Nuke Question

sp will - depends how they feel about you before hand - they will definately hate you for the rest of the game if nothing else

The most common enemies of the AI getting nuked will almost hate you. Try to find the error now

Ah thanks Traquenard-fx I edited the previous post to include a question mark at the end. Sorry for the confusion.

 sorry i have making a error when I was read your question.
The point is if you nuke the AI and he possess nukes you will be nuked but about the real question I have no ideas (for sure it under 40% or certainly lower)

Sorry :crazyeye:

EDIT: I think I will need glasses soon

I am an avid fan of nuclear wepons, it's the best way to take a level thirty city with eight mechs in it! If you are going to use nuclear wepons you are not garanteed to be hated by other civs, UNLESS YOU DON'T HAVE AN ALLIANCE WITH THEM! If you are going to have to nuke someone, get an alliance with every other civ in the game against your opponent. Here's the way the AI looks at nukes as far as I know. They will never use nukes first. Nukes don't come into play unitll you use them. Then probably 100% of time every civ that has a nuke fires theirs the next turn! That is why you must be allied with them, if not they will be allied against you, nuking you into the ground. So let them nuke each other. Also I believe the AI will never be happy with you again, it will always be cautios or worse, since you are a nuclear aggressor. Does this answer your quesiton?

I once nuked another civ and many(note: many, not all) of the other civs declared war on me. About the chances of that civ nuking you. I once heard someone capture a city full of ICBMs and I think he never mentioned being nuked before that so I guess the chance of them nuking you is rather low.

Ah Ic. So if I fight another civ using just conventional units and they have nukes I gather from what you said is that they will not nuke me. !!

This is different than in Civ2, they would nuke me :(

The chance of being nuke by AI are higher when he going to loose is war againts you.

Maybe that help you a little :)

The AI may nuke first if losing, never had it happen though. If this is a possibilty then take it's big cities first, and leave the little cities for later, it wouldn't hold nukes in little cities anyway, also you can use your spy to check the size of their military and see if they even have nukes.

I have seen the AI use nukes before the human player, both against the human and against other AI.

do your military adviser tell you about AI civ getting nuke? Do you see the nuke explode or something? Never happen for me. Can you tell me? ;)

only arrive to me once. Greece was in war againts me and when I approch their capital with half of their empire they nuke me 18 times!!! Must say after that they received the 2 times more!!!
With all the consequences : total world war againts me and him
Why they have to always act, I never demand for help or something else. Those ******* bastards!!! :o

I was thinking that scenario must arrive more further. Can't tell you because most of the time I am a diplomatic and peace person.

No - it is rather frustrating, because you can't always figure out who launched the first nuke (and who therefore deserves to be destroyed -- not so much because nukes are bad, but because now you have to deal with ridiculous amounts of global warming ;)).

I have spotted an AI-AI nuclear exchange in a couple of different ways. Generally, first hint comes when, on the world map, I see a suspicious disappearance of city improvements -- I then investigate the city or cities in question, and surprise! polllution surrounds the city and its pop is starving. I then confirm a nuclear exchange and the participants (sometimes discover the nuclear exchange this way) by using my military advisor (assuming I have a spy) -- the AI civs which had ICBMs/tactical nukes no longer do!

Occassionally I will have a sub or ship close to an AI coast, and am able to see a sudden, predictable pattern of pollution appear on the fringes of a city just out of view. I don't recall ever "seeing" and AI civ hit by another civ, i.e., having a unit close enough (and having animations on) to see it -- I have of course seen AI civs hit by my nukes and my cities hit by AI nukes.

I haven't seen this in a while -- I used to play a lot of games with spaceship, cultural and diplomatic victory turned off, just so I could experience a longer game period in the modern era. My subsequent experience is that with ss victory turned on, I haven't seen a nuclear war.

BTW, in earlier versions (1.16 and 1.17) a good way to induce an AI civ to nuke you first is to capture and raze productive cities (don't know if it is the same in 1.21). I ran a few experiments using save / reload -- if I occupied a captured city, my opponent didn't use his nukes; if I razed a few cities, nuclear rainshower.

This is a good thread!

I wish the human player was notified of any nuclear exchanges. It seems like the AI always is.
