Oh no. Not the dreaded global warming. If you are not careful about 0.001% of the world will revert from forest to grassland!

    Each turn!

    {Sarcasm mode disabled}

Where are the nuclear winters?

Have had an AI nuke me, fail because of my SDI and get nuked to **** by everyone else. About 16 cities in all (none of them mine). :nuke:

Actually, global warming gets a LOT more severe with the use of nukes... dozens of tiles per turn, sometimes. And by the way, why would forest be reverting to grassland? The only place I forest over is Tundra...

And yeah, the AI are pretty stupid about nukes sometimes. ;) :crazyeye:

Bah ! It seems that the world is against me, I was due to challange silvers screenshot and see if I could nuke more citys in one screen than him but my breadknife got in the way ! a lovely arguement that was stopped with scret weapons, ie flowers and wine !!

I will get my generals cap on next week and see if I can come up with the screenshot.

Lord Parkin, any idea how long the global warming continues for? and why do some of my citys disapear after i launch a major attack? is this flooding?

    any answers ?

also any advances to silvers screen shot any1?

Yeah, SDI's a hell of a useful thing to have. ;)

@Thunderpants - unfortunately, global warming continues FOREVER as far as I recall. :(

Parkin, are you sure ? i think its an initial warming then it stablises to keep there? The thing that used to annoy me was when i whopped the citys my coastal citys used to get whipped off the face off the earth due to the rising of the sealevels .. bah ! I think a mod city improvement like the Thames Flood Barrier would be wicked !
Anyone have thoughts on that? Would you be more willing to use them if you could accept that there would be pollution and terrain change but not loosing citys due to rise in sea levels?

Ansar, no unfortunatly not , but feel free to think that that is me !

What improvements would you make to the nukes ?

hmm, ( by the way im meant to be researching baby names, .... Thunderpants Jnr for a boy ? would that work for a girl ??? , any thoughts ... ) !

I tried to mod it so that sea levels can rise, but it didn't work.

To re-iterate what was said by someone else: nuking is fun when you have one opponent left (and even better when they're already waaaaaaaaay behind you).

I don't want to be paying unit support for all those ICBMs I keep building instead of SS parts....

Tis true, I think you should get tactical nukes ALOT earlier say close to getting Infantry. I don't use nukes at all anymore but I think this would be closer to history

I always thought cruise missiles should be a lot better since they were conceived as delivery systems for tactical warheads. They should have a much longer range and be always fatal, for example. And they could easily be available earlier, Germany used their V weapons in WWII after all, and the V1 was essentially a cruise, and the V2 was a Sub-Orbital ballistic missile.

Range 5, Bombard 16, ROF 5, Fatal. They could kill an Elite defending unit in a city outright, whereas at the moment I just use them for sinking ships, pre-redlined by bombers. They would have to be rather more expensive though. I bet the AI would use them with stats like that.
