Hi,

What does the number and color mean by the city name? Sometimes I have multiple cities with the same number and some cities have different numbers. Am I missing out on some info to help me management or locate my cities?

Thank you,
Rosy

The number is the city's population, which is the number of squares the city can work. The color represents whether the city is growing (green), stagnant (white), or starving (red).

Well Nullspace has the number thing correct for sure, and I'm pretty sure he has correctly answer your color question (his answer there is correct if he is in fact describing what you were referring to). Could you post a screen shot and point out the color(s) and number(s) you are refering to please?

under "options" "other" there's a "detailed city view" checkbox. it adds more info to the city name from the outside. it shows you how many turns are left until the city grows, and how many turns are left on the what it's building. i find it handy, some folks don't like it. oh, i can show you. it looks like this:

that number 15 on the left is the current population. the color green means it's growing (more food available than it's eating).

the (1) in the name line means it'll grow next turn, and the (3) after bank means the bank will be done in 3 turns. that's what the "detailed city view" option adds.

ps welcome to CFC last month :)

Hi,

That answered all my number and color city questions. Thanks. I like to play with the detailed city info on. It's more informative. Nice picture.

Thank you,
Rosy

Don't unhealthy cities get a special sick green color for their number? I forget.

they get a hideous green toxic cloud hanging over them. it horrifies me, but sometimes i just have to live with it. oh it's terrible. i'm really quite unhealthily obsessed with big healthy cities, i need professional help. i'm too embarrassed to even post a screenshot of one! and they have a :yuck: face above the name, on the left, like before the religion symbols.

not that i know from personal experience. all of my cities are always healthy. always always.

Had to do a double take there KMad, I thought you were 1 turn away from completing a build of a "Barbara" in that city.

I thought the number next to the city name was how long the city had before it was going to explode, I am disappointed now.

yeah like i've ever built a nuke plant?!?!!!eleven!!!???? i gift the AI coal for free if they have none in the hopes they go for coal plants and not meltdown-galore-machines that make global warming and ruin my pretty pretty cities *giggle*. in my game right now i have just one coal, so that's not an option. which is bad. so i'm killing them off before they get fission instead. for the good of the planet.

From personal experience:
NEVER EVER EVER build a nuke plant in your largest production center surrounded by watermills and workshops and mines in the 1600s. A meltdown will occur in the middle of your war, and screw you over.

What does having electricity do? I know how you get it, but I've never seen the relevance of it explained.

Factories provide an additional +50% :hammers: bonus with access to power. Needless to say, this is a huge boast to production.

Oh, is that all is does? Because I never build factories because I don't like pollution. And, by the time I am able to build factories, I am in stockpile mode building combat unit after combat unit so I can begin my imperialistic quest to rule the world! Muwahahaha!! ;)

That's all the more reason to build them. Forge is +25% :hammers:. Forge, factory, and source of power combined is +100% :hammers:.
