I have a question: what I must do to change number of civilizations on the map? I have my own mod that can be played on maps with different sizes, but in every case I can choose only 8 civs...:( I would like to choose 16 civs, but I dont know how to realize this...

Thanks!

I do not know if this is it, but:

In the editor (Conquests) choose Scenario in the top bar. Check off "Custom Rules." Press OK when the warning comes up. Press Ctrl+R. A window named: "Edit Civilization 3 rules" should come up. Click on "world sizes" in the top right corner. Choose the map size you want to edit, and change the "Number of Civs" to the number you want.

I hope this is it. ;)

Good luck!

Never mind that this shouldn't be in the maps forum (which is for completed files only), but in the general C&C forum.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work, at least of me....:(
I did all you wrote...
Maybe it helps to advice me - it is parameters of "world size":
width = 130, heigth = 130
number of civs = 16, distance between civs = 18
optimal number of cities (for corruption) = 28, tech rate = 320.

Maybe I must change of some these params to achieve what I want?

Im sorry, but I didnt find proper topic for my question.

What version of civ3 do you have, Dominic? If you have conquests, could you please try to upload the .biq file for your mod? Then, I can take a closer look at it.

Hmm, okay. When I open your mod (though without terrain) it is standard size. Normally, that means eight players (as you said in your first post. When I open your mod and go into "World sizes", standard is called: "Ñòàíäàoòàÿ" (Russian?) Change the: "Number of Civs" from eight to sixteen. (8-16) That should help.

I can't try it myself, because when I open your mod (ingame), I need the pediaicon text for "bathouse". Never mind.

sorry, but I dont understand at beginning: "Your mod (st)..... yoalthough"...

nevertheless, I change this "number" for every size map, and ingame it always let to choose only 8 civs (for every map size)...

by the way, before this time (I've reinstalled Windows), the game always let to choose the number of civs that I pointed in editor... but after I always have to choose only 8...:(

Ooops - something must have gone wrong there... I have edited it now. ;)
I can't think of anyting more to do - maybe a more experienced player can help. Sorry :(

Good luck with your mod, though :)

Are you trying to play multiplayer? For multiplayer, the max. number of civs is 8 regardless of any settings and it cannot be changed.
