Number of images

I tried looking in the FAQ, but it's pretty non-specific.

When submitting a long post with many smilies and images, I sometimes get a message saying "You have too many attached images; go back and revise..." or something to that extent.

The question is: How many images are too many (note that smilies count as images)?

And one small peeve is that when you click the Back button, your entire post is gone, unless you copy & save before you submit.

I've done that......... And I have also written a thread for about 10 minutes and I pressed start new thread and it made me sign in again, and everthing was gone.

Why would you want to know?

Because I don't always remember to copy a thread before I submit it, especially not at 2AM.

If I know the limit is, say, 15, then I'll try to keep a rough count of how many I've put in.

I think that there's a limit of ten smilies per post.

I think I remember getting an error saying no more than 10 smilies. Might be wrong though.

Yep. 10 smilies (or other images) is the max.
