Race isn't (solely) based on the colour of one's skin.

 

Which is precisely why the NickyJ's are now a race.

In fact, the War for Independence was really a race war. (The colonial American race, with the help of the French race, defeated the English race.)

Why instead of trying to view it from a different perspective (perhaps more neutral, objective one), let us mock it instead.

Guys, a sami person from Northern Finland, Sweden or Norway are literally the same as the person of Irish-extract living in America, or say a Basque in france/spain.

But there is. Blacks have been consistently overwhelmingly democratic since the days of FDR. It's pretty standard political practice to ensure that groups who would vote for you vote in large numbers. I don't see this as racist any more than Republican efforts to court Evangelical Christians constitute religious discrimination.

 

NickyJ does have different DNA and physical traits than other people, so he must be a race.

Well if you wanna totally ignore how racial divisions have developed within the American experience, feel free, but that's dumb. Nobody's going to treat you significantly differently from me because my eyes are blue and yours are green. We're both white. Plenty of people would, however, treat one of us differently than they would a black or Latino person.

Don't do that "if white people did Y" thing, unless you truly believe that race in America exists completely in a vacuum. (Hint: there's some history there. You don't have to like it, but you can't dispute the fact that it exists.)

 

I thought Red Tails was good movie, but race had little to do with my opinion on it.

As for the OP: Yes there is a double standard here. If any of the republicans said "whites for us" there would indeed be an uproar. In fact in the 2008 Democratic primaries there were media complaints of voters in West Virginia voting for Hilary "only based on race" even though there were plenty of African Americans voting for Obama only on race across the board.

 

Honestly, I find it hard to take the comments of a poster with a white supremacist in his avatar very seriously in a discussion about race.
