How about aluka, since Babe is being quiet.

If Babe or the new one got to be rather active we could 'draft', 'appoint', or otherwise 'select' someone to be their contact person.
 
It occurs to me that by posting screen shots each turn (which is a good tool to track our progress and verify events) might have a problem.

What if it could be hacked?

That is, could a Google image search with key words such as MTDG and numbers turn up our maps?

Or, perhaps, SABER maps?

If this is an issue, it has a work around. That fix is a bit messy, but it could be done. Just involves either a new photobucket account or changing the folder location/filename of the images.

And we have given some of that information away when we signed the MAAP with The Council, since the image we 'signed' with is hosted at photobucket. And as they did with us.
 
I don't think that that is an issue. First, Ginger_Ale, Regentman, RM, and the non-participating mods can view our forums. Therefore, if one of them finds a FREE image in GONG's forum, they would think that that is suspicious. Finding and using them would be a lot of work, plus it is against the rules.

You could ask one of the Admins to try the search, because if one of us tried it could be cheating.

I have not done this. I do not know of anyone doing it. I have heard no whispers of this being done. I do not even know if such searches would return any results.

It is possible, however unlikely, that any team member could 'decipher' the naming convention of any other team and thus 'break into' their private communications.

I do know that Team FREE and The Council have used images in some of our correspondance, and so has Team BABE in their only communication with us so far (as of the end of our Turn 104).

I am not saying they or we have done this. Only that it is possible to try.

My Thoughts
Perhaps I have answered my own question, but in-game team images would seem to be part of the Team's private forum and thus off-limits to the other teams.

What do you think?

I think one of the best way is to use a site like ImageShack or something where the URLs have added characters to prevent stuff like this. You don't have to take the time to create an "unbreakable" naming convention, just use a site like that and don't allow anyone the chance to do something like this.

I was looking at the game, and noticed that we could build the MoM. Then I checked the forum, and GONG made an announcement saying that they built the MoM. Why is GONG trying to deceive rest of the world? F7 says GONG has build the Pyramids and the GLib. Should I PM Ginger_Ale/Regentman about this? Unless I'm missing something???

GONG is just being GONG; making jokes in the public forum.

Of course, if we built the MoM we would call it The Pyramids. :crazyeye:

Since we are weak compared to Babe, and they have scouted our landmass, and seen our lack of visible defenders, I think we could be.

It would not take many Mounted Warriors to really mess up our lands.

Future
If we get to Astronomy quickly, then the Babe Great Lighthouse advantage is somewhat diminished, since we could safely stay in sea tiles.

Long Range Future
We need to protect our island holdings; I feel that they will have long range strategic resources hidden in the mountains. Remember, this is a Rik Meleet hand crafted map.

We should try to get some news from SABER as to whether BABE is still trying to land.

Maybe BABE will wait until technology allows a safer passage before coming after us. Perhaps we should position some of our galleys in a way which would give us an early warning.

I also agree that holding onto our island positions is important.
 
We should definitely unit-blockade our smaller holdings to prevent BABE from landing. As for our main mass, we'll need a capable defense force or a (hopefully not) SABER-style blockade.
