For 30 years you’ve raised cities, built wonders, and rewritten history a million times over. Civilization simply wouldn't be the best strategy series of all time without its players. So over the next few months we’re commemorating three decades of greatness from Civilization players with new challenges, fun surprises and amazing offers.

To kick off the party, here’s Civilization creator and 'Godfather of Computer Gaming' Sid Meier on the series' infinitely rewarding design and compelling human core.

"Over the next few months" :shifty:

Imagine at the end of this, they cap it all off with the announcement of Civilization 7!

A man can dream!

honestly I was expecting that announcement today :D

Damn it. Do I need to restore my SteamDB bookmark for Civ?

Given that Marvel's Midnight Suns was just recently announced, I think the chance was extremely low, TBH.

Well.... so Civ titles have been normally released in Sept/Oct, and first announcements have been between 5-9 months before that. If they now make this "a few months", then at the end, it could certainly be.

Well, don't having high hopes for new Content just increases the Surprise and the Delight when there is really something more to come. This really surprised me!

I'm curious about the new Challenges (do the Wonder Posts on Social Media have something to do with this?) Surprises, and Offers (some kind of Contest with Prizes?).
"Over the next few months", I guess this will drive a lot of people back to CFC for discussions and speculation, again.

Tbh, I would really be happy if Firaxis only fixes the Asset Bug limit and the constant crushes of the Game, that most likely are due to Issues with the Launcher. these 2 fixes alone would make me happy with Civ6, but if there is more to come, then bring it on!!

I too have a sneaking feeling that this is going to lead up to the announcement of CIV VII sometime next year.

There is a new job ad for Firaxis, sounds A LOT like for someone to make units for Civ!

Looks to me like what I've suspected since Humankind came out, that Civ VII will "double down" on all the in-game named characters since Humankind has NO named characters in their game. If I were to hazard a SWAG (Scientific Wild-A** Guess) I'd bet on more individual on-map characters for Great People, Governors, etc and possibly some more Non-Leader animated characters of some kind, like Barbarian Leaders or some other kinds of Non-State Actors . . .

If done right this could add some interesting flavour to the game

Admittedly that is a rather if

Something to keep in mind, Firaxis doesn't work on "just" Civilization, they're also responsible for XCOM and now the Marvel game, so it's not cut-clear that this is for Civ 6.

And honestly, I'd rather not have them waste money on "on-map characters". I never pay attention to the actual in-game stuff, usually just the ui side of stuff.

Do they have seperate dev teams for each franchise, or do they shift resources to the next to be released one?

Wait... are they already proposing a compilation of the whole Civ series ? Honestly, that would interest me... where can I buy it ?

This makes me think about a Civ4 remake, as the main obstacles that prevent me to play it again are the horrible graphics and some annoying stuff related to cities cultural borders/workable tiles. That would be amazing.
