Oh. My. Goodness! Gracious! (Need help with Librarian Difficulty)

Until Talent, I can walk all over everyone without breaking a sweat. Anybody have suggestions for keeping pace on Librarian and later? Because I can barely stay competitive in anything even as the University and hardly any 1 wants to tech trade with me (even though I can think of no other way to get my gameplay vids going).

DISCLAIMER: I’m only using the regular GOG version. No Thinker mod for me yet.

Share a few screenshots, you're probably missing some crucial element (e.g. bad terraforming, strongly suboptimal build choices, maybe combat issues like overstacking or leaving units exposed).
