Oh, Politics (AKA the US Electoral Map in 2010)

My point is that the population is decidedly more left-wing than the major political parties

Fantasy world, meant to make fringe libs feel like they are right through imaginary overwhelming support. But the truth is... politicians are only what we make them. If your fantasy world were reality, the political landscape would reflect such. Noone is being kept from voting or running for office, so abandon your fantasy and join us in reality.

I hope the GOP becomes dominated by the radical right* and, as a result, becomes a marginalized, regional party. The more centrist* Democrats might split with the liberal* Democrats and join with the more centrist Republicans to form a third, centrist party, and the liberal Democrats can move further left to balance out the spectrum more.

I'm by no means saying this will happen in two years, but if the far Right gets control of the GOP, it could begin to unfold as early as 2010.

Much also depends on the performance of the Democratic President and Congress over the next two years.

*In regards to the American political spectrum

I believe it was El Mac who said it (I don't remember exactly), but polls of the American public's opinion on things are often left of center.

It's very easy to distract the populace from policies they would support.

My condolences sir, but you live in a country with a FPTP system.

I'm not a liberal and neither am I in a "fantasy world." My earlier comment was based not upon real, not imaginary, polling data.

WHOA!!! Polling data!!!

Leme guess, the poll was conducted by huffington?

You would really put your view of reality on a single poll? A poll that some guy on the internet cited and which you cannot even remember the source?? Mind bottling.

I bet I could find a poll that says the opposite. I swear, some people are SO gullible.
