ok what just happened

a message came up saying that an infiltrator has caused soem unrest and asresult bulidings and improvements were lost. then i click ok, and it pops up saying that the infiltrator was french. then i click ok and lose two farms , a town, a mine, a pasture , then my granary, forge and university!!!!

what the hell just happend!

I had the same event from opposite sides, where I was given the option to destroy several buildings & improvements of an AI.

The penalty was suffering -3 relation....I guess the AI did not care much about your relations!!

This event: yes it does - it is designed to sour relations, as a player you get to chose whether you want to take the relations hit and carry on or not. The AI also gets to chose but since it doesn't have anything to lose in terms of relations to the human player this event does not make much sense for AI vs. human, AI vs. AI and human vs. AI does make sense though if you accept the relations hit you damage your opponent...

I had this happen to me as well last game... I was not happy with the civ.

Though it was nice to get hit with a real nasty event for once to shake me up a bit.

Now hang on a bit, isn't it just a chance you'll get busted for supporting the rioters? It sure does sound like the event I got the other day (playing vs a friend over direct IP with a bunch of AI's throw in). There I got 3 options: 1) do nothing, 2) do something I can't quite recall and 3)spend EP and support rioters for additional damage and 50% ish chance to be discovered.

When the event text came, and he swore at it, I just said "Wow, who did that?", with the reply "Grr, bandits, just an event." and me sitting at my chair grinning inanely (if you are reading this: Bo ya, shucks to you. Baaah! ).

was really nasty though. losing 5 imporovements (2 cutting off resources!) then 3 buildings. and im playing on marathon so it takes AAAAAGGGEEESSS lol.

to be honest though i had it coming. stole 2 techs of the french recently...so maybe its karma...damn karma, ill get you

I did the same thing to my fiancee. She was in the lead at the time. Talk about hilarious.

Unfortunately, the 50% chance ended badly for me, and she found out I did it.

She DoW'd me because she was so pissed. She had far too little offensive units and built up defense; I had offensive units and a Navy. Basically ended in stalemate. We fought for a while in game and then made up after .
