When I get my new computer (should be by July at the pace I'm going at) I have multiple files that I want to move to it from this computer. Currently the file is over 386MB's using winrar on it. I now have a tough choice on what to use: A 128MB USB memory key (not that I know where my USB port is on this pos) or a thing called detto Intellimover. Both cost the same and have an advantge over the other, The key looks easy to use, while the other one doesn't look so easy to use, but sounds like it transfers from computer to computer directly via a cord and wouldn't have a MB limit. BTW the computer I'm on now doesn't have a CD-RW drive, the zip drive is broken (currently theres a disk stuck in there and my computer isn't reading the drive anymore), and of course normal disks are out of the question since they have a 1.4MB limit. Also where is my USB port on my computer? (HP 6470z) And of course which of the file movers should I use?

First of all, you don't need to spend any money other than for a serial or paralel cable if you do not own one yet. Check download.com or tucows for free or 30-day trial filetransfer proggies. Physical transfer of the files will take some time but should not be an issue if it is a one-timer. Recommend not to transfer the data as a 386 Mb file if possible, better to use smaller chunks just in case the transfer stalls.

Alternative 2: transfer the old HD to the new toy and copy from there, transfer back once done.

I'm going to go with fastlynx, now to find out how much a cord thing costs.

Ok my first Q has been anwsered but where is my USB port?

Edit: Is this what I need? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=1051384690192&skuId=5310772&type=product

USB ports will most likely be in the back. But there are only 6 sides to the case, so you'll find them sooner or later ;)

Here's what they look like (note the USB symbol)

There are often USB ports in the front as well. Allowing for easy access of peripheral devices, usb keys, etc.

So it's possible that your comp has them in the front and the back, just like most computers made in the past 5 or 6 years
