When Warlords came out a lot of the civs got new traits. Some of the changes I like, for example Huayana Capac, but most of them I don't. I would really have preferred washign ton to stay Fin/Org. As an isolationist/builder I don't really use/like all that much the charismatic and Imperialistic traits and the protectionist one is just ok.

So what did/do you like/dislike about those changes? I wish the folks at Firaxis would allow you to use the old trait with the new add-on packs. Or i would like to see a three traits possible but you can only choose two to use.

Dunno about Warlords, but at least on BtS:

You can choose "unrestricted leaders" to pick any available trait/civ combo you like (custom game options). In BtS Darius is FIN/ORG.
You can choose any trait combination except IND/PHI, PRO/ORG and CHA/CRE. That's 52/55.

Yeah... but then you likely don't have the synergy for your UU/UB units.

In BtS you could choose Unrestricted Leaders, pick Darius of America, and voilà you have FIN/ORG of the Americans. What do you mean by losing UU/UB synergy?

If anything you gain synergy. Boudica (AGG/CHA) of Rome for example.

I guess it's just liking to play an actual leader for that civ with their own stuff. There are ways to make the pieces fit so to speak but it's not an american leader playing the american civ or whatever substitute you want to make.

I like the changes made for Huayna Capac. :goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob:

Don't like the Qin change though someone had to be Fin/Ind.

I'm in the mood for a laugh. Anyone have the link to the guide saying HC is the worst leader in the game?

Qin should have been Org as he built the first bureaucracy in China.

I had to peek at the IGN guide... and look at how they slaughtered those poor Arabians with a insulting anaysis:

    Arabia
X Starts with Mysticism and The Wheel
    X Camel Archer replaces Knight
    X Madrassa replaces Library
Unique Unit and Building Impact: Nothing. The former simply can withdraw from combat, and the latter allows more specialist citizens in a city. Not that great.

    ANALYSIS
Arabia is a bit of an enigma. It doesn't do a single thing really that great, although it is a bit above average in research thanks to the Madrassa. Not a bad civilization, per se, just not a very strong one.

First off, I rather have a Camel Archer, which by the way requires no horses to train, than a normal Knight, and in order to use the Madrissa correctly, you MUST USE A SPECIALIST ECOMONY in order for it to be effect. Any newbie knows how powerful the Arabians can be, and if you don't, you are a newbie.

Therefore, I agree with DMOC about the IGN guide being the joke of the Civ guides.

He should have been Pro/Org. Then my favorite trait combo could be represented along with one of my favorite unique buildings.
