On this day: 1999 NATO bombing of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia

Clearly, we didn't go far enough, as we still have people whining about it.

WIKI

any thoughts? on this day a sovereign country was attacked

On April 20th the day of the largest bombing when there would have been a lot of people paying attention to it the Columbine massacre happened and everyone forgot about Yugoslavia.

I remember watching CNN that day when they were covering the bombings, but didn't see anything on Columbine until after I had gotten home.

We had a substitute teacher in my math class and he'd rather watch CNN and hand out busy work than try and lecture.

I celebrate this day.

I have this bottle of Johnny Walker Blue Lable. I'm saving it for a special occasion.

This is not that special of an occasion.

But I did think about it

Viva NATO.

I thought this was the anniversary of the day NATO authorized bombings and then the US actually did it :mischief:

Thank you people for showing me how little you know about this...

Tha NATO bombing happend because Milosevic refused to pull out Serbian Troops from Kosovo and thus giving it Independence, NATO should have known better than to ask a suvereign country to give up a part of its territory they knew we will refuse...

NATO didn't bomb Milosevic, NATO bombed Serbia and its civilian people! why? why should anyone celebrate a day when NATO hit Belgrade Hospital, Civilian Train, Nation's TV center, Chinese Embassy (3 times), Chinese Building, civilian homes, the list goes on! imagine your father, mother, sister, brother (what ever) being killed for such a thing, you ask your self why? why would "civilized" NATO alliance do such a thing? the free world (USA) sophisticated western Europe? why? did they kill so many innocent lives just for their personal benefits? and how can you people on this forum say its a celebration event, whats to celebrate? I would prefer for all of you to read the WIKI link I gave before putting such ignorant and insulting comments.

Peace out!

Jeez louis we're joking about bombing Yugoslavia but dead serious about Iraq? I guess there's a statute of limitations on these things. We'll check back in 2012.

You're assuming a lot.

Tha NATO bombing happend because Milosevic refused to pull out Serbian Troops from Kosovo and thus giving it Independence, NATO should have known better than to ask a suvereign country to give up a part of its territory they knew we will refuse...
you said "we will refuse". Does that mean you agree with Milosevic's decision to not pull out of Kosovo?
Plus it's not as if Serbia wasn't given enough warnings about the consequences.

NATO didn't bomb Milosevic, NATO bombed Serbia and its civilian people! why? why should anyone celebrate a day

The only one celebrating here is you. If not for your post, nobody would have remembered this.

Personal benefits? That's a new one.

and how can you people on this forum say its a celebration event, whats to celebrate?

Again, remember? You're the one who created the thread.
