Ongoing problem connecting to CFC

I tried to do this when you showed it to me in #fiftychat, but I think I need to register an account or something with Open DNS? I don't know, but when I changed it how it told me to, nothing happened, and I still couldn't log onto CFC.

No, there's no need to register. If it didn't work, then it's not a DNS problem and i'm stumped!

I am STILL having this problem. I cannot get into CFC from home except through myinternetproxy. I have no trouble getting in at work, however.

I guess the whole server change screwed up other people's ISP's routing :ack:

Could you try contacting your ISP about it?

In your email, you may want to include tracerroute info:

tracert civfanatics.com

You can type that in command prompt.

I have been having this problem also, so if anyone figured it out tell me, as a large part of my time here is downloading and uploading, neither of which works through the Proxy thing..

Dunno if this is related - but for the last 20 minutes i could not connect to the forum at all. Neither that nor the chatroom.

I was unable to connect today for at least 3 hours!

Any other site worked, I tried clearing my cache and cookies and it was not related.

Thanks. :) Apparently, there were also a couple of double posts in the time, so I think I wasn't the only one with the problem. :)

They must've banned Romania for a few hours.

Contacted them -- no dice. They said nothing on their end is blocking the connection.

I finally can enter cfc. I disabled firewall option from my thomson 710 router. Its not the best solution, but it works for me. I dont know the reason (only hapens with cfc, and only since the server changes), but maybe it works for other users.

Do you have cookies enabled? Because I couldn't connect either until I turned on cookies...

Firefox 2 and Safari 3 are way better than IE BTW.;)

Yes, and I always use Firefox.
