Open borders question

Hi.

Is there any way to renew the open borders agreement before it expires? For example when it's one turn left to expire, is there any way to propose a renewal and thus avoid open borders expiring and all your units magically being deported/transported elsewhere?

If it's not currently possible, @Gazebo , would it be feasible and not to difficult to introduce this mechanic? Or delay the deportation for one turn to allow the time to renew it?

Thanks for the replies.

This is a good idea

Not really feasible because open borders happens for numerous things (like war) and so it'd be unmanageable. And the AI can't ask for a deal item if it already has the item with the player, so it's unable to agree until the deal expires. It's not ideal. but there's too much risk of introducing a new bug in the process.

What if there was a "dummy" expiry date - that is, the effect doesn't wear off till the turn after, but the agreement is recorded as no longer present? But I guess you already thought of that...
