OK, this is an open succesion game, just download, play 10-20 turns, and post the news.

Parameters:
Standard Pangea
Roaming Barbarians
Arid, Cool, 4 billion years
6 random rivals

4000 BC- So begins the the reign of King Hammurabi of the Great Babylonians with the founding of Babylon and the creation of a cave-palace. Just beyond the city's borders, scouts report the presence of large, gray animals with long noses. They believe that their large horns may be used to make the citizens happy.

3850 BC - Reseach starts immediatly with a stange, new strong metal dubbed "iron."

3750 BC- The first group of warriors is armed with their battle axes. They stay in the city to defend it.

3500 BC- The culture of the city grows so much that is starts to influence more areas. Roads in the area now bring the precious new substance dubbed "ivory" to the city, making some citizens happy. A new group of warriors is commissioned to explore the surrounding lands

3000 BC- Some of the citizens of Babylon are given supplies and are told to leave the city, to found another.

2900 BC- An indigenous tribe of the area teaches us the art of the alphabet.

2850 BC- The intrepid settlers found a city they dub Ur.

That's it. Priorities for now: continued exploration/expansion. Both Ur and Babylon are on seperate seas (as far as we know). There is a lot of ivory in the area. Exploration went to the south, since tundra was seen up north. Good Luck!

I will help you get started - playing 20 turns.

Any body playing should first post the intention to play, otherwise you could get 2 people playing at the same time.

Preturn -
Cancel order for settler in Babylon, the city won't hit size 3 for a long time.

2800 BC - Cancel goto order for warrior.
2630 BC - Realize why I was confused. I set wait for End of Turn.
You can't count turns correctly in a succession game with out that!
2590 BC - Begin barrack in Babylon.
2550 BC - Pop a goodie hut, the Cuman tribe teaches us The Wheel :)
Pop a second goodie hut, the Harappan tribe teaches us Warrior Code :)
We have a source of horses [dance] Our worker was sitting on that spot!
2510 BC - Borders spotted, going to investigate.
2430 BC - It is the Zulu :( I give them $25 for the knowledge of pottery.
I refuse to give an aggressive tribe like that the wheel.
2150 BC - Masonry research begun to get us the Pyramids.
Babylons borders expand in 4 turns, and then Iron within our borders.

Summary -
Ur is working on a settler. Babylon on spearman to defend ur.
Babylon can start next on either a settler for mass expansion, or the colossus.

Post your intention to play, and complete your turn with 24 hours.
Up to 20 turns. At least once person between your turns.

Don't expect to see me hear a lot
Chieftan below my play leve.
I just wanted to help the game get started.

EDIT: Out of date attachment deleted.
EDIT: Out of date attachment deleted.

Pre-turn:
Increase science rate to 50%, reducing time to Masonry from 37 to 12 turns.

(1) 1950BC
Exploring

(2) 1910BC
Babylon completes spearman, starts on settler. With our limited area to expand I think we need to do it quick before the Zulu grab the area. Spearman sets out to claim our next city site.

(3) 1870BC
Exploring

(4) 1830BC
Boring exploring

(5) 1790BC
More exploring, nothing exciting discovered.

(6) 1750BC

(7) 1725BC
Babylon completes settler, starts on spearman for defense.

(8) 1700BC
Yawn

(9) 1675BC
More yawning

(10) 1650BC
Munith founded, construction of temple started

(11) 1625BC
Masonry discovered, begin research of Writing
Babylon completes spearman, starts worker

(12) 1600BC
Babylon completes worker, begins Colossus

(13) 1575BC
Exploring

(14) 1550BC
Ur completes settler, starts barracks

(15) 1525BC
It appears we may be sharing a rather small island with the Zulus

(16) 1500BC

(17) 1475BC
Barb settlement sited, warrior sent to disperse

(18) 1450BC

(19) 1425BC
Barb settlement destroyed

(20) 1400BC
Palace is expanded
Nineveh founded, temple started

The workers, after finishing the roads to iron and Nineveh, should begin irrigation, especially to the northern cities, as soon as possible to help with city growth.

We do seem to be sharing a fairly small island with the Zulus. They have only two cities to our four at this point. I would suggest we start concentrating our production on getting ready for war with them. Avoid building bowman at this point, a golden age this early would be wasted. Our iron will be online soon and I don't think the Zulus have any. A decent number of veteran swordsman should be sufficient to kill them off at this point, they don't have much to fight with if they don't have iron. Their impis are not offensive and will fall to sufficient numbers of veteran swords. I almost changed Babylon's production to granary with the intention of then producing swordsman but I will leave that decision up to the next leader. My thought is that having the island to ourselves and being able to peacefully build our infrastructure would be more beneficial than one of the early wonders.

Best of luck to the next leader.

Let's keep this one going. It's an OPEN game, anyone can play.

Post your intention to play, and complete your turn within 24 hours.
Up to 20 turns. At least once person between your turns.

Is this with the newest patch?

A quiet 20 turns. I worked on infrastructure, mostly.

1375BC - Started road to iron north of Babylon

1350BC - Checked up on Shaka. Zulu's have writing, but want way too much for it. I give him 1 gold for his trouble.

1325BC - Yawn

1300BC - move warriors around a bit, keep working on roads.

1275BC - Started barracks in Munith. Barbs spotted on east coast.

1250BC - Wait for barb warrior on mountain.

1225BC - Nubian warrior attacked our warrior waiting on a mountain. Stupid Nubians! :D Send warriors down SE to find Nubian camp. Road to Iron complete!

1200BC - Started mining hill N of Babylon. Rationale: maybe able to speed up Colossus a little with better production.

1175BC - Established embassy with Zulu. They have iron, too, just outside Zimbabwe. Started scientists on Map-Making. Another barbarian attacked one of our southern warriors. Easy pickings for us.

1150BC - kept moving warriors SE.

1125BC - see another barb in the swamps.

1100BC - Barb attacks us. Stupid barb. :D

1075BC - Find barb encampment in very SE tip of island. Will clear it next turn.

1050BC - Nubian encampment gave us 25 gold. What a pleasant gift. No HP lost to barbs at any time. Micromanaged orur workforce a little in Ninevah - gave up growth for a few turns to speed up temple. Turned OFF the city governor.

1025BC - Headed our SE warriors back towards home. Began irrigating desert just S of Munith.

1000BC - Yawn.

975BC - Ditto.

950BC - Temple in Ninevah complete. MMOW. Now building Swordsman.

925BC - Irrigation done. Sending worker N to join other.

900BC - Mining N of Babylon complete. Moving workers to Ur to mine there.

----------------

Colossus is 7 turns away. Unless someone elsewhere is already building it, we should be OK. Barracks building in most cities. I thought of putting one in Ninevah. Next player may want to change production to it.

Bah. I started playing it, even leading a successfull war against the Zulu, only to forget to keep track of what turn I was on. I was in a hurry to get ready for work...

I captured Zimbabwe in 490bc. I'd have to re-play the thing to figure out what happened when. (no autosave).

General Inky of Babylon takes control in coup, declares himself God-Emperor and claims to fulfill a manifest destiny. War with the Zulu empire inevitable.

God-Emperor Inky killed in battle.

Anyways, with 8 swordsman it should be easy to kill off Bupedi, the Zulu Horse city north of Zimbabuay, and then Ulundi, the Zulu Diamond city. That's about it. Sorry about the hurried production but with 3 luxuries, diamonds, ivory, and dyes, it should be moot.
