Opera question

How much free memory does Opera 7.5 take up? My system crashes whenever i open it and i was wondering...

mine uses about 10-15mbytes but from the stories you're telling I'm guessing that your problem doesn't lie with single applications. I suspect that either your installation is seriously messed up or you got a hardware problem (maybe defective RAM?)

If you run short of memory, the applications should slow down - not crash.

CNET's reviews for Opera and Firefox say this:

Firefox:
