The first civ that came to mind for me with abilities concerning flood plains was Egypt.

Ed Beach in the stream said that there were 4 to 5 vanilla/existing civs that would get a change in the upcoming GS expansion.

So far we know of England. I think Ed also said that the Civs in show in the stream were the ones experiencing a revamp, which means:

    1) England
    2) China
    3) Zulu

    So far.

My guess is that both Japan and America will get rejig of their abilities, which would make up the 5.

As Gitarja was also present on the map.

He also explained Russia's revamp in detail. Their units would not take damage from blizzards.

I think it was hinted that Australia was one of them

Also, witht he change of Flood Plains, you would think the Egypt bonus of being the only one who can build on flood plains has to change

Australia may end up with something to do with droughts. We get droughts very frequently here. Roy and HG, the famous Australian historians and commentators coined the term "the big brown date" to descibe the outback in the grip of drought. They later went on to set up a Mexican themed restaurant in Mawson base, Antarctica.

If the Maori are in, I think they’ll have sth to do with earthquakes since they are a common occurrence in New Zealand.

I'm guessing Egypt will be immune to flood damage, both units and buildings. The Nile is super chill with its floods.

Egypt might have an extra bonus to fertility from flooding or double yields from floodplains or something like that.

Indonesia and Australia might have something to do with their coastal bonuses?

Zulu, I can't think of anything. Maybe they were just a red herring.

I hope Egypt gets a floodplains bonus of some kind.

It would also be neat if Japan got a kamikaze bonus: All Japanese naval units are imune to storm, similar to Russia, "Enemy naval units take double damage when with in two tiles from Japanese territory."

No more than Pakistan or any other plate place of activity. Earthquakes are like gun crime in South Africa, you live there, you get used to it.
As I clearly saw the Ta Moko in a picture, it will be Maori. As the picture was of them at sea one imagines they are more about seafaring, Ed certainly hinted at something cool but that is always open to interpretation.
Personally, their culture is very strong and also quite wise amd I do hope it is along those lines, maybe Utu related.

Yeah, it was the trailer. I was happy to see it after all of the leaked images without.

Norway could get the ability to use enemy Canals which would help their navy alot. Maybe also throw in ability to build ships with less resources.

I mean, we dont know for sure about earthquakes yet. They weren't in the natural disaster screen, afaik. Would be nice to include them though, if they could include some positive effect.^^

Is there a good map script in the game that reliably creates islands which can't be reached before researching Cartography? It's one of the reasons I don't enjoy playing Norway, you can often reach other landmasses without their ability to cross oceans earlier. You still save some turns, but meh.
