I am playing on map where only 3 other civs are left. I am kind of allied with one of them (have been all game) and have had a few wars with the other 2. My ally is annoyed, so I tried to make her polite. It was easy.... 200 gold or so as a donation and she was purrung.

As a test i tried to make the other 2 civs more happy than furious. They just will not go. I hvae given them all my gold (800) and 50 gold per turn. Nothing. Then i gave them all of my cities. STILL they wont move from furious.

I have a fairly small army, although I just got tanks (but I havent built any infantry yet). I am 2-3 techs in front and am trading at least one luxury with each other civ. My culture is way better than anyone else.

How do I make these nasty furious bastards like me again? Do I have to build a huge army, so that my army is bigger than theirs? Must I go to war and PROVE my domination? Should I stop researching and put ALL of my money into comerce so I can give these dudes 400 gold per turn?

It seems strange that giving them ALL of my cities did nothing to change their alignment. It makes me think that it must be an army thing. Their armies are so far superior to mine that they wont ever change to anything but furious.

if i remember well:

your army size won'T change theire attitude, but they will declare war on you if you have not a big enough army, thus making them hate you.

If you want the AI to like you you must not betray them.
this meant, you let them declare war on you for no good reason.:)

Skip the test dude and destroy them!!

Have made the same experience, after fighting a war with a nation it takes ages for them to get along with you again,if you have betrayed them they´ll hate you for all eternity, funny enough they won´t hate the AI controlled civs whos actions are just as dispiseable, often much worse.
