Other Than For Huge Maps, Histographic Tables Tend to Have a Lower Number of Entries Relative to Other Victory Conditions

Assuming that the least filled tables end up the most difficult to play for, other than huge maps, histographic is the victory condition the most difficult to play for. There does exist one exception Large Warlord tables total to 43 unfilled spots, but large histographic tables end up close with 39 filled spots.

The basic pattern of histographic tables having the least filled spots held before I submitted and had a bunch of recent games, and I think that pattern was even more pronounced. As the number one quartermaster for the Hall of Fame, if you can score better than I did on any of those maps, you could say that you did better then me in some competition.

Currently, the total number of standard histographic unfilled spots equals 42 unfilled spots, with the total number of unfilled spots of 100k tables equals to 28.

Small histographic tables have a total of 45 unfilled spots.

Tiny Chieftain histographic tables have a total of 29 unfilled spots.

If I remember correctly, you did some analysis of the number of unfilled spots (not just Histographic) on the tables earlier this year, right? Or was that another one of the regulars?

I'm creating a draft post for the front page to promote the Hall of Fame with its recent Black Friday update. But it occurred to me that, "there's still a bunch of open spots on the Hall of Fame! You don't need to be a Sid-level player to be in the Hall" could be an effective way of getting a few new players, and there's going to be a whole month in 2025 before Civ VII's release when series veterans will need something to keep them busy. Thus it may make sense to have a post linking to that thread be shared on the main page around the end of the year/start of next year.

If my math is right, we've gone from 30 games in 2022 to 41 in 2023 to 104 (and counting) this year, based on the update posts. That's quite a bit more games!

Yes.

Nor does one have to play for the top spot on a table.

Even after the HOF was expanded from just 60 slots to thousands, the #1 spots filled up fast. A big reason we created the Quartermaster's Challenge was to give players an incentive to keep playing games that mattered.
