So I'm listening to music at work, and She and I comes on. My wife got me on this song, and it's sorta become 'our song'. I got her onto Pink Floyd's Poles Apart, and that's kinda 'our song' too.

So, what's your song with your SO or friends?

My song with my ex-girlfriend was kind of "100 Years" by Five for Fighting, as it was the semi-official theme song of the church congregation where we met. In fact, a lot of the stages of my life have theme songs that I heard a lot at that time.

erm me and my girlfriend go through patches of different songs, start of our relationship was dont stop by junior senior---dont ask why. Now i think its the Kooks-Naieve but thats likely to change sometime soon.

Chances Are - Bob Seger and Martina McBride
You probably won't want to be around when my wife and I break into song. (well atleast not while I'm mangling Seger)

heh heh...in high school, my then-girlfriend and I had 'Creep' by the Stone temple pilots as our song  I can barely keep from laughing when I think of how seriously we took ourselves then.....

The closest thing that my gf and I have now as a song is a stirring, falsetto version of 'Roxanne'....

For me and mine, "Our Songs" had come mainly from people like Stevie Wonder (You Are The Sunshine of My Life), Roy Ayers (Love! Will Bring Us Back Together!), Marvin Gaye (Let's Get it On), Madness (It Must Be Love) or, going way back in time to Phil Collins (Groovy Kind of Love)

"Our songs" are so cheesey, but that's what's so great about them

Nobody will believe this but one osong that was "our song" for me and one girl already quite long time ago was Laid Back - Sunshine Reggae . Everything started from summer romance so I guess it was in place then.

It brings back memories.
Oh, the wonderful summer time.

Too bad those days are gone now, only warm memories left.
Like they say, it's time to move on.

"Let the good vibes get a lot stronger"

C~G: Are you German? That's one of the favourite songs of my house mates, who are German. I've gotta say, as a major reggae fan, that there's something about German reggae that errr just doesn't quite sit right. :hmm:

Fortunately, "our songs" are totally immune to any criticism

"My song" can only be a song in my native language - I find it impossible to express accurately my feelings in any other language, since I can't claim I can go behind the words. That, of course, means you don't know it (it's in Greek), but I can just give a small part of the lyrics:

"The salt has covered your naked body
they brought you stiff water from Delphi
in two parts, you said, your life will be broken
but before I manage to deny you three times
the paradise key became rusty."

Of course, it's a love song but also a dance song - the appropriate thing is that this a dance for one man ALONE :).

2 Girlfriends ago was Let Me Go by 3 Doors Down, with my ex-girlfriend it was...either How You Remind me or Someday. All weird chioices, I'll admit.

Yeah, I think the same about German music in overall but I have also plenty of mates who listen reggae so I guess I have used to some even strangest of them. But IMHO that song is perfect as summer song.

I agree. You cannot criticize something that someone has listened during possible major life event. The song can be basically any as long as it takes right back there in your memories.

Cannot blame someone from their fondness of nostalgy. Of course it isn't only nostalgy if you are in relationship at the moment.
Those are the things that you can build relationship on.
After all it's all about memories of good times which you shared with someone.
In fact that what life is all about, memories.

When I was in England a friend of mine told me that my song was Fernando, by ABBA, for obvious reasons.

It is a nice one, :D I picture one of the ABBA female singers falling in love with a local in the mediterranean coast
