So which of those 5, (food, gold, production, culture, and science) is most important to your wins and why?
My vote is production because it allows me to build buildings faster to get more of the other 4, as well as more production, and it allows me to build military faster as well.

They can all be important at different points in the game. Early game, food is the most important. After that, it depends on your chosen Victory Condition, which resources you have, and who your neighbors are. Culture is always first or second in order to pick up SPs.

True. They kind of all lead to each other, I think. For me, the importance, in order goes like this. Production, Science, Culture, Food, Gold.
for each era, here is which i think is most important. (at least for my playstyle.)
Ancient: Food
Classical: Food
Medieval: Science
Renaissance: Culture
Industrial: Production
Modern: Production
Future: Production

Whoops! The thread title is supposed to have the word which after science.

Here it's at least already evening ;).

Ontopic: They are all have an importance on the same level. If not, the game would be poorly balanced.
I mean...you can't really neglect anything, right?

While all of them are important to winning, ultimately the most advanced civ will be in the best position to win because technology unlocks the other ones.

I like science followed by production. Doesn't help to be able to build some great building or wonder if you can only assemble one little piece at a time. I always hate building some city to snag a resource, and then see there are barely any hammers around so things are taking forever to build.

All of them, though gold can be put in low priority especially in early game when you want to amass a decent force to storm your enemies.

definitely science because if you have better technology everything else is better. production is second.

Well, yes but out of those 5, i find it easiest to neglect gold. You don't need to be rich to win. You won't have many CS allies, and lack an ability to quick produce an army, though.
Science, food, and production are very important not to neglect, you can't win without those 3 i think.
Seems like Science and Production are "winning", and culture is last with only 1 vote.
It would be interesting to see where faith would fit in after G and K is released.

culture, helps me prosper in all the other aspects of the game ;)

My logic goes...

food = people
people = production
production = power
power = land
land = food
