Paratrooper Shift Bug

I have run across a most unusual bug in the very late game. If I select more than one Paratrooper, using the shift key, then the game gets a CTD. No other unit is affected by this -- only Paratroopers and only very late in the game.

On a new game at turn 10, I added 5 paratroopers and the shift key worked to select or deselect the Paratroopers without issue -- again only in the very late game does this bug happen.

I changed the graphics for the paratrooper unit, but it made no difference, as the CTD still occurred. Again only to the Paratrooper unit. The error is a valid bug, as it occurred in several different games, very late in each game.

My guess is there is some kind of conflict with the shift command and the Paratrooper unit somewhere, but I'm not sure where or what is the source.

The release of OGI 3.02 is being delayed pending the resolution of this Paratrooper shift bug. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

I have found a solution for the notorious shift bug! :) It only took 5 weeks to hunt this nasty bug down. The gist of the problem was that CvEventManager was having conflicts with BugEventmanager. A quick and dirty fix is to edit CvEventManager to safeguard it from the shenanigans of BugEventmanager. The details of the fix is on post number 27 on the following link:

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=486409&page=2

Testing of OGI 3.02 has resumed and the fix should allow the mod to finish games. I will be including a copy of the edited CvEventManager when I release OGI 3.02. The edited file will replace the stock BTS CvEventManager.

Congratulations for catching the bug! And thank you for sharing the link, very interesting read.
