patch 1.61 from 2kgames

if i click on the link to download the patch 1.61 on the 2kgames site, it will say No MySQL connection! what does it mean? how do i fix it?

If you want the latest patch though that is 1.74.

patch 1.74 says i need to have civ4, but i have civ4 complete, and i need a patch to play multiplayer

Civ 4 complete is already patched to 1.74

it says i need patch 1.61 to play mutliplayer, but if it is already patched, then why cant i play?

EDIT: it says i need patch_319 or something like that, then it starts downloading and it says it installs itself, but nothing happens.

3.19 is the latest version of Beyond the Sword. The ingame updater doesn't work for this patch, you will need to download it from here and run the patch outside the game. If you have Vista or W7 run that by right clicking on it and choosing run as administrator.

How are you trying to play multiplayer? Are you trying to use BTS or Vanilla? Everyone needs to be at the same patch level to play multiplayer.
