PATCH 174 downloading trouble!

Help! I can't download the patch succesfully! Please help me!

Download it from here, not in game. The in game d/l is broken. It takes forever, if it even works at all.
Just look in the d/l section. it d/ls as a file, then you just run the file and it self installs.

You should give us a bit more detail, like what version of windows you're using, some details on which game files/patches you're having trouble with, and that sort of thing. Also try posting in the technical support forum. There's some pretty smart people there.

I'm using a windows XP, and (if you've seen the the title... -_-) I'm having trouble with Patch 174 (or is patch 1.74?) It's for Civilizatin IV. Just IV. Not the expansion packs or whatever they are....

Is it a direct2drive version? If so, I think you have to get the patch from direct2drive...but somebody will have to correct me on that one. That's all I can think of, sorry.

most likely it is asking you to reinstall directx - the way it is worded leads people to believe it wants you to reinstall the game. Install this:

I got it now. I had to download the previous patch. I learned that from a guy in online mode before I got the patch. What I did was I only had like, 5 seconds to chat, so I had to keep entering and leaving to get my point across. The guy helped me alot.
