Patch Install 1.09 vs 1.52

Currently I am running 1.09 and I do not want to patch civ 4 and give myself unwanted stress.

Here is my computer
XP SP2
P4 2.67
512 MB RAM
ATI Radeon 9550 256 MB
50 GB free Hard Drive Space

I had issues with the original install but the PAK fix worked.

How is everybodies experience when Patching from 1.09 to 1.52?

Also is there any advantage to patching with my current config?

Just looking to keep my sanity and keep on playing the game.

Patch 1.52 fixes alot of things, like how the game handles memory (reduces crashes) and a couple of tweaks to some of the game aspects. Had no issues installing the latest patch and has fixed all my issues I did have with the game.
You *shouldn't* have any problem installing 1.52 but that could be my 'famous last words'.
