Argh, having finished my last game I decided yesterday to download the patch. It wasnt a patch, it was an update deleteing all of my additions to the bic.

So now Im stuck modding my bic all over again. Spent a good 8 hours so far just doing that. Guess I should release my mod eventually but since im not documenting it ive avoid it.

At least the 1.17 editor open 1.16 bics. I can go back and forth but boy is it rough. Other then that the patch looks great. Cant wait to play. I have oodle of unit add ons so its a bear to do. (im running about 80 more units in the game). After finishing the units i had to take this break before going in and readding fascism and resources. Oh the agony.

Course new keys means I gotta reconfig my strategic commander once I get it all done.

Actually I kinda enjoy modding the game more then playng it anyway. :)

Just tedious to reduplicate the work. Be nice if there was a way to make unit addition modules which did the work for you. Maybe I'll break out the hex editor and poke around at that next.

I know it's a pain the the a$$ to have to re-mod your bic ( I had to do it too), but that inconvenience was offset somewhat by the added functionality and bug fixes that the new patch introduced.

I'm afraid that it's something we're just going to have to live with until no more patches are necessary.

"Until no more patches are necessary"?!? Don't hold your breath.

I THINK YOU WILL BEING SEEING THIS BEFORE CIV III REALLY WORKS:

Really? Then I must be seeing a whole gaggle of flying pigs right now because my copy of Civ III isn't broken. Too bad yours is. Perhaps you wouldn't be as embittered as are obviously are if it wasn't?

Let me ask you, why do you spend so much of your time obsessed with something that you obviously dislike? I mean, why do that to yourself? It's not healthy.

I know, I know...I'm a "fanboy". But if I'm a fanboy, who comes here to discuss a game that I like with other like-minded people, then what are you, a person who spends his day/s obsessing over something that he doesn't like?

It's too bad that you never have anything positive to contribute.

I was torn between "No" and "What's a bic file?". I believe I have a pretty good idea what a bic file is, I know I could very easily find out and do things with it, and there are probably utilties and pre-modded ones galore if I were interested. But I voted "What's a bic file?" because that best reflects how I feel about it. :)
