Patching alpha centauri crossfire

But patch 4.0 fails to unzip facedit.exe and then it closes right after....

Im trying to use the faction editor though, and one thing that i noticed is that the fields don't update when i change them. Like if i change "free tech" to something else, it doesn't update at all. What's going on?

Tried making some changes to a faction and now the faceditor crashes everytime i try to load that faction....

The faction editor is known to be buggy. Don't use it. Just use Notepad (or some other text editor) to edit the faction files directly.

Are there any alternatives to facedit than notepad? I don't understand how to make the edits using notepad...

Edit : Can anyone upload the raw copy of their facedit.exe please?

You don't want that; Petek is right, and Facedit is of the devil.

Google AcEdit, and see if you can get it to run on your machine...
