It looks lile a game. It's about the Hanseatic League. I haven't played either it or Patrician II. I hadn't heard about it until I bumped into it on amazon.com today. I'm thinking about buying, but I haven't heard much about it.

Has anyone played it. If so, is it any good?

Cheers :goodjob:

Seems to be called something different in German, maybe that Pirates game.
Anyhow, Patrician I is a true classic and still fun to play, Patrician II was full of bugs but got better later with patches. I suggest you check those two out.

Well, Hitro, I just went straight ahead and bought Patrician III. It's very good compared with how I thought it'd be. I'm still in the early stages of the game, but it's been enjoyable so far. One criticism, however, is that the cities aren't very accurate in terms of physical appearance. That's merely a minor one though. I've gotten to know most of the commercial details. I'd be interested to know how accurate it really is in the distribution of goods. For instance, were Hamburg and Stettin really big producers of beer?

For those who don't know, Patrician III is a simulation of the historical Hanseatic League - a trading organization of Germanic cities in the Baltic/North Sea region. You start off as a shopkeeper in one Hansa city (e.g. Lübeck) and attempt to became an pan-Hansa trading tycoon. :goodjob:

dose it give you military abilities like the real Hanseatic league commanded through the use of mercenries? or is it one of those non-violent games...
