Hey, it must be an annual payroll contest between the Yankees and the Rangers!!! It's awkward though, as the average salary in baseball in around 2mil/year US whereas in hockey it's 1.5mil/year...

heels yeah - go blue shirts - i am a diehard rangers fan, and the last couple of years have been sooooooo painful - so much potential, wasted. bure is young (relatively, compaired to the dinasours the rangers usually pick up) and has talent - but will he perform in the garden??????

Darn. I heard rumours that the Senators might pick up Pavel. Given what the Rangers are paying for him, even Ottawa could've afforded the guy. Back to the Bargain Bin.

I am not sure what baseball has to do with the average hockey salary. Not trying to be rude, but how does it fit in with this trade. I am also new to hockey as I am coming from FL(Florida) and NC(North Carolina) and I am now living in PA(Pennslyvania).
States spelled out for the non-Americans.

It is because now the Rangers have a baseball-like payroll, which is quite unusual since they might not make the playoffs!!!:goodjob: :goodjob: ( I root for the Montreal Canadiens, evidently)

Ah, so how exactly does this work out? How is it different than before?

I assume what he is trying to say is that Bure's contract is worth a whole heck of a lot more than those of the players and picks they dumped off, hence, the Rangers now have a large/baseball franchise like payroll.

Exactly!!! And I am praying hockey gods so that they won't make the playoffs (although I would be happy that the ISLANDERS could make it... hee hee hee)
