Here it is, Peaceful War v1.00f. It is about, you guessed it, how to damage your enemies while you are at peace. If anyone has a better name, please post it here and tell me. Other than that, download, enjoy, and then post what you thought about it here. This is v1.0f and it is the 4th release. I just did a major spell checking but you can never be too sure so post any caught spelling mistakes here also. Also, a .doc format is now available in rtf format along with a .txt format.

Thanks, and enjoy!

v.01a - Initial Release

v.01b - Beta Release, Includes a 6th section on RoP manipulation.

v.01f - First, final release. Includes clarifications and a new section under diplomacy about those stinking highly corrupted cities.

v1.00f - Second, final release. Includes a major spell check along with a .doc file in rtf format. You may download either one. The .doc file has some color in it :)

v.01a removed after 96 downloads
v.01b removed after 893 downloads
v.01f removed after 2958 downloads

INFO: The .doc format is available by clicking on the following link and the .txt version is available by downloading from here.

Download the .doc version. NOTE: .ZIP format!

With 124 downloads, I would think that more than one person has formed an opinion about the strategy. Please post what you think here so I can improve it in the future:) If nothing else, at least mentioned whether or not you liked it pleaes.

Thanks! :)

well done. The worker idea is good. bloody romans used that on my wonderbuilding capital. Cost me the journey of magellan...

A very good set of ideas! I didn't realise that a civ will never declare war while in RoP treaty!

In my experience, RoP treaties aren't very good if the border is very long, in which case too many units are needed to patrol it, and in such case the AI will try to build cities in every single 'cultural hole' within your territory, which is not very nice! However small borders can be locked up with a realistic number of units, so then RoP is a good deal.

So I guess now I'll have to build uo a 'Bismarck line' on the border with Egypt an sign a RoP treaty! (... and in 20 turns my panzers will be knocking on the gates of Thebes   ) :egypt: :rocket:

some pretty good ideas here. i've never bothered with trade embargoes before but now i might try them out. i especially like the idea about the "MPP in yer face" strategy. could be real annoying.

but you're wrong about the AI not breaking RoP. i've had the Iroquios break RoP with me before. scumbags eh?

Ive had a civ declare war on me when we had just signed a RoP...
but perhaps it was a bug? I had just placed a city near the Iroqui border.
They had just reached peace iafter a war vs France that hadnt gone done much of anything for either side and were looking for a fight.
The declared war on me and killed my new city. I thought I and they were friends so i hadnt defended the city well yet. so i restored a save from a few years previosly and arranged a Rop treaty with them. But right on schedual they attacked my city with their little stack of Swordsmen

So i got military alliances with the 2 other Civs on my continents and am in the procces of pounding them into dust. I just got their capitol :king:

Hmmmmmm... I didn't think I had put that it will NEVER declare war in an RoP but I'll have to check again. It may be time for version .01f. I am amazed at the number of downloads. over 600 total

Thanks for that, can try some really useful things...

Waar kan ik die salad-bar vinden (in Dutch).....

Talk about a similarity ;)

Im bumping this so that everyone can see it.

Also, do you guys think I should make an update or maybe an entirely new strategy guide?

I'd update it into a PDF document for printing, and do some editing. The word is want, not wan't for a start.

Some good tips though.

Well, I don't know. It's really good, but you might just want to take like 30 min and fix up some stuff for 1.17f. Theres some really good ideas in there!!!

Sending in workers to destroy their food production is truly sly and nasty...
congratulations, gonzo!
