Whenever I read a single thread in said forum it appears as if the rest of the threads within it are being automatically marked read. Any idea why this might be?

No idea, Eklektikos. If I have to guess, it's probably a cookie thing. Maybe you could try logging out and login again to see if it helps...

Logging out and back in does not seem to have solved the problem, unfortunately.
