Periodically Losing Focus on Text Entry Box

Starting yesterday or the day before, while I'm typing a post the text input box periodically loses focus and I have to manually click to get the cursor back in the box and continue typing. I'm not sure, but I think it happens when one of the site banners refreshes. It's quite annoying.

I'm not sure whether it's just me or others are having the same issue. I'm running Chrome on Win11 and I don't have any special addons.

Yes, I'm pretty sure that it happens when the banners refresh. If it's not happening to anyone else, then it's probably specific to my system, but I've already tried restarting the computer, clearing the cache, etc.

I have the same issue, especially when using Chrome on my Win11 work laptop.

We have not changed anything there, so I'm a bit puzzled .
This would indicate that the focus of the browser windows changes to the banner... which I guess kinda makes sense, but I don't know if that is an issue with the forum software or of the browser .

It's possible that there was a change to Chrome, but... it's not as if it's some kind of niche browser.

Yes, indeed. If it's a Chrome issue, then it's also our issue.
I'll see if I can figure out where the issue is coming from over the weekend, and then will need to see where exactly I need to fill a bug report .

The other reason that it may be appearing less frequently for @The_J and Noble Zarkon is that the the "Supporter" badge also removes ads, and if it's a banner ad that's stealing the focus, then it would not show up when someone who is a Supporter is logged in. And since you can't type a reply when not logged in, that effectively means someone with the "Supporter" badge has no way of detecting it if it's ad related.

It may help to screenshot the ad that is displaying when it occurs and post it here, it's possible there's one rogue ad that's hogging the focus. Or if it is more than one, that's also good to know. The more we document when it occurs, the more the cause can be triangulated.

I'll make a note of what ads are being displayed when it happens, but I would be surprised if it's a particular ad causing it.

I'm using the Civ VI theme, so I don't think that it's linked to theme.

I have noticed that it happens with a wide variety of different banners, so I don't think it's tied to a particular banner.

It does seem to happen mainly with the banner on the popup banner on the bottom of the window. I haven't seen it happen with the regular banner at the bottom of the page.

This. It happened with ads at the bottom for both Bombas and Tickets at Work, but it happens with many ads.

I have just used my test account (which sees ads) to open this thread, and mash the keyboard through a few banner reloads in Chromium and in Edge (which is based on Chromium), but I cannot replicate the problem :/.
I checked the Xenforo forums, and there is no report either. Which doesn't have to mean anything, could as well be our specific combination of forum software and advertising platform :/.

How often would you say this happens on average?
Would need to know how long I would need to approximately test.

It can happen once or twice per minute, or not for several minutes. But you'll only notice it while you're typing in the text edit box.
