The Civilization IV Hall of Fame has been updated. 211 games were accepted since the previous update, the total reflected our strongest Gauntlet activity yet.

Congratulations to Bozso77 for the highest Firaxis score of the update with a Tiny Immortal Domination game for 203947 points. J_RocKeT76 was the most active player during this update, submitting 21 games.

Only 6 players were brave enough to take on Deity this update.
billator, Bram and godotnut each submitted Deity games that also took number one table positions. J_RocKeT76 and Moonsinger were also winners at the Deity level, but the showstopper this time was Shadowsong who topped off six different Deity tables with four different victory conditions across three different mapsizes!

Minor Gauntlet:
G-Minor 1 concluded with High Desert, Sumorex and godotnut taking the top three spots of a very active list. G-Minor 2 is now up and running, where players will be competing against Germany, France, America and England to a Time (full details in thread).

Rules Change:
HOF Mod 1.61.003 is now the only acceptable submission version for the Hall of Fame.

Congratulations everyone. I hope our Gauntlet traffic stays as high, the last one was both entertaining and educational, as the design intends.

Amazing dates! Except the space race compared to beta :mischief:. The rest are outstanding! :goodjob: :worship:

BTW isn't is 5 different victories?

Congrats everyone!:goodjob:

I like to thank the HoF staffs for posting the update on time.:)

I have learned a lot from reviewing those final saves. Can't wait to try some of these new tricks on my next game. Thanks!:)

Yup, a fine job by the HOF staff. You folks are really on the ball. And congrats to all, esp Shadowsong. Wow! Methinks we all need to step up to the plate and give you some real competition!

Also, sometimes really good games slip under the radar if they're not Deity, so I would like to send out a specific congratulations to Sanek, who had many strong finishes this update, including a 1635 Huge Immortal Space Race win. Nice.

Much appreciated. :)

I've been pondering that for several updates now. I obviously stick with the Deity submissions for the front page update. Brevity is a factor since access to that page is a shared privilege but there's no reason I couldn't list all the new number ones here in the update thread. We could possibly even highlight the number one submissions that are first entries to tables maybe?

I don't want to seem like nonDeity submissions aren't worth honor and glory, it's just that highlighting that difficulty seems the most objective thing to do in updates.

I agree that emphasizing the Deity games on the front page is the most objective criteria, and I like the idea of listing the number one positions in the update thread.

In my opinion, it doesn't hurt to occasionally mention really outstanding non-Deity games though, such as A Turkish Guy's 500,000-plus point warlord game. I doubt anyone will feel discriminated against by occasionally mentioning the rockin' non-Deity games.

One little thing I noticed. When I first go to the HOF, I'm no longer taken to the summary table--which seems the best place to start. Is this intentional? Some people might not bother to click on the "Summary" tab and so they could miss it.

IIRC, ATG was quite often mentioned. The updates regularly single out the highest Firaxis point games, as well as the heaviest submitters.

It's been changed to default to the Map Type tables. I don't know if you noticed but every time you go to the HOF Site the Victory Condition on that screen is chosen randomly.

I think it's tons harder to win space race quickly now, as opposed to beta, so I'm sufficiently impressed. I'm surprised it can be done on a large deity map at all, actually, so Kudos with a capital K.

What about highlight the #1 in whole hof?

Maybe you could help us out and explain how to identify the #1 in the whole HOF? I.e. which of these is best:
1000BC Huge Immortal Conquest
1200BC Huge Monarch Conquest
1200AD Standard Deity Diplo

uhmm none.:p :D
Here's what I mean.
#1 in Conquest = http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ4/game_info.php?entryID=1766
Because its the fastest finish in whole hof with hsighest score.

#1 in Domination = http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ4/game_info.php?entryID=1688
Its the fastest Domaintion date in the whole hof.

#1 in Cultural = http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ4/game_info.php?entryID=1881
Best finish date in while hof.
#1 in Time = http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ4/game_info.php?entryID=1916
Highest score in Time.

etc.

Bad criteria, methinks. The fastest wins will usually be on Duel sized maps.

True, so what about highlighting the highest score in whole hof?

My guess is that it will be Warlord on a huge map.
