I just wanted to announce that I uploaded some Sassanid units for Persia's middle ages.

http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=11826

The zip includes some extra units outside of the regular medieval line up. The concept art the units are based on are inside of the attachment. There are more screenshots are inside of the post. Feel free to comment, tell me if there is anything wrong with the units or download, what you like, what you hate and so on.

I'm glad you like the units mamba! :)

Hehe, because of you I will have to make two persian empires now ;)

One with Danrell's and one with your units (they obviously will have different names, there will only be one Persia).

Magnificient!
There is one serious problem with your unit sets, thou, Bakuel... ... my heart pains whenever I have to choose between your units for a single unitclass as there's not enough unit classes available! ;) But let this be the biggest, sweet problem ;)

I do not have this problem. Almost every single one of them is used in our mod. Sometimes it's very cool to have lots of unit classes.:devil:

Here's one to complement the pack - I've made it a long time ago, but never cared to release it outside of our mod. I think it fits this pack well; this is a Sassanid-era heavy infantry unit. Uses crusader anims. The texture included only for central figure; if anyone needs, I could post other two shield textures too.

Bakuel makes another masterpiece!

Makes me want Persian Machinegunners too.

By the way, what's coming up next?

Hehe, I would be content with the renaissance units (cuirassier, cavarly, rifleman, cannon, ...) for now ;)

By the way, what's coming up next?

I believe he said he would be doing some Polynesian units next someplace.

Polynesia? Oh... yes, I remember that too. Polynesian Tanks. Now that'd be awesome.

Well, Hawaii does have a sizeable military presence...

Awesome units!

Bakuel, could you make some horse archers? That would round out the Persian units. Perhaps the Medium cavalry from the Acaemenid set and one of the half-barded cataphracts from this set? They do look awsome though.

Thank you for the kind words everyone! I'm glad these units were well received!

avain, I uploaded a new version of the zip file, in my haste I forgot to delete the old nifs. Tell me if anything else is wrong. I'll make sure that the only problems with the units are the quantity! :D

Just to make my bi-weekly schedule public,
Next up is Hungary/Polynesian units (I have a week off coming up and I plan to finish both of these), after that some Viking units, Holy Roman Empire (Frankish style ancient age, middle ages I haven't decided), then probably some Chinese units (killing two birds with one stone), Greece, Carthage, Nubia, and everything else is up in the air.
I am only doing ancient and middle ages sets at the moment, I'll probably do some later ages eventually.
Who knows, one day I'll probably get around to making Persian Machinegunners.:)

@Walter Hawkwood, if you want I can add the foot knight to the download as well! I like and it would finish off the set, I would give you full credit of course. What animations does it use?

@stmartin, Don't worry, I am working on Taishi Ci right now! You can expect it in around six hours ;).

@Ajidica, I was actually making an Sassanid horsearcher last night, but ran into some animation problems and decided to go ahead and release the set without it. I'll make the Acaemenid horsearcher and fix the Sassanid horsearcher later (probably two weeks).
