Went back and skimmed the thread, and the only big thing seems to be attack Pascal.

I fire an illegal engineer in military city. I thought this city couldn't generate any GP Points.
(IT) We are the most advanced civ in the game.


This was a mostly military build up turn with the exception of a few forges to speed up production.

Do we want an engineer or a scientist next? I fired two scientists to get an engineer first, but that can easily be changed back.

Maybe capture/keep Chichen Izza as Spy City, raze nearby Mayan cities then either put the hurt on Bod or annihilate Pacal.
 
Its also the name of a Mayan City (which doesn't have any wonders atm).

The idea of bribing Biz is quite a good one.. So we can concentrate on Pacal and hopefully finish him off soon..
So do we agree on spending lib + astro to keep boud busy??
Dunno, I find it a rather steep price to pay. Can't we just bribe Biz into a war with Boudica in case she declares on us? That way the price will be a lot cheaper. Besides, if we bribe Biz now into a war with Boud, she could still declare on us anyway (since she'll like us even less or could be persuaded by Pacal) Also Biz will start asking us to join in and it would be a shame to ruin relations with him by refusing that.

So I guess I would say no to bribing Biz now, but yes to do it as soon as (and if) Boudica declares. Well, it's Boudica so strike out the "if" :).
 
So finally I finished my set, and it wasn't my best one ever, that's for sure!!

Some MM and made an upgrade of the troops next to Angle. BTW why the hell is science set to 0%??? We had over 700 gold in the bank and only two units (those at angle) for upgrading!! :nono: Nonetheless MT will be in in 2 turns and afterwards the money will come in handy..

BTW: Qin asked to join the war with boud but I honestly declined..

Finally Holy City fell.. :cry::cry: I'm deeply sorry guys, but I missed to reinforce 'cause I thought the city wont be in true danger until it was defenitely too late.. :hammer2:
But on the other side this year turned out to become at least bearable. We won Spy City:

Another engeneer was born and settled, and we're on our way to payback the loss of 1525..

The holy City to storm we move on and on..

Another scientist saw the light of day and became settled, and once again I had to decline the demand to join the war with Boud. This time it had been Mehmed who ased for it..

The storm for oly City broke loose.. We didn't won the day but the battle is decided!!

As we've got already heavy unhappyness because of the war I didn't dare to defy, as we won't kill of Pacal that soon..
And chemistry came in as well.. I decided for MS for grens next.. I think we'll need them to get rid of Pacal right after those ten turns..

After a hard fight and a lot REALLY a lot of bad luck twice lost a battle at over 90%, 3 or 4 times at about 80-85% and about the same number at more than 70%..:mad:
I'm deeply sorry for loosing that many troops, but at least we've got another city.
For the next player: I'm not sure how much Pacal will pay for peace, but I'm sure he will at least pay some money. As we will losse the resolution we may as well get some money out of the peace (in case the team won't decide another way)..

That's some tough luck with the rolls, but nothing you can do about it really :(. At least we finally have our eight cities, so let's keep a tight grip on them :)

AP is a real pain in the ass. It is located in Lakamha so our next objective should be to raze that and be done with it. We are still above Pacal in power so he is about to gas out. We should be able to take him down once the peace treaty expires.

On a minor notes, I think we could safely send two longbows from engineer city to protect the newly conquered cities. Merchant city also has some spare troops. We also need to remember to destroy the cottages that Pacal has built and fire the illegal specialists from Chichen Itza once it's out of revolt.

We have our cities and can use the peace treaty to build up our forces again. As surely the AP will force peace, I'd indeed take whatever Pacal gives for peace now.

From there on wipe out Pacal and join our brothers in the faith by moving on to Boudi.

I don't think moving straight for boudi would be the best idea.. We need her to become our rival in the UN-resolutions.. That seems to be the only way to secure most of the votes..

Of course, if we go for diplo then we shouldn't attack her. I was in a more conquest oriented mood when I wrote that. :D

So maybe we have to decide how we want to win this thing. I proposed the diplo path, which I think you liked as an option, but afaik there has not been any decision on that yet...

Diplo could be a bit tricky, securing that Boudi stays biggest while being assaulted by the other AIs. Also, by the time the UN comes, some may be in Free Speech which of course annuls the religion diplo plus, so we may have to secure other plusses. And after erasing Pacal it will turn out a rather peaceful game (for us) which may be boring.

Conquest otoh will have a lot of maybe tedious warring...

I am a bit undecided myself. Thoughts/preferences?

Go for steel rather than milsci I reckon.

Grab some peace, raze that nasty AP city, fight a (hopefully) faux war against Bod for the mutual military diplo.

For UN we need to head for mass media via physics, electricity and radio so that might take a few turns.

But in case we see we won't win via diplo we still should be able to win this game through military struggle.. So I'd still vote for diplo!!
 
Winning is only optional if pholkhero is actually playing, otherwise its compulsory.

Sent an archer fogbusting south of military city. He walked into a barb mace-person and survived. I left him/her there busting the fog.

Bismark's friendly, Wang's annoyed, Bod's annoyed, others are pleased but still think we've become too advanced.
 
Plan seems to be quite obvious. Raze AP and deal with Pacal while gathering bonus points from every leader except Boudica :p
