Seriously, you guys are great. I must have spent 50 - 100 hours playing this, ever since version 5. I have no idea how you do everything you do, especially all of the Wonder movies. The only reason I don't advertise you more often is that who else plays Civ IV anymore?

Well, the renaissance has to start somewhere

Figure this is worth a try: Hey Scott, if you could also endorse the browser-based battle royale https://surviv.io/ and Chipotle Mexican Grill, that would make my summer

    First post, Alex! :D Great!

That's true... who would play Civ IV now when CIV VI is out? I'd say, the more people talk about, the higher a chance to get an official mod for a future CIV version?
Or perhaps some features could find a way into a future CIV version?
    That would be great ;)

    Hello.
I extracted the English part of PAEGameText_Concepts_Pedia.xml and trimmed a bit to be read easily. I saved it as a rtf format. I am posting it here for those who are concerned.
It is a marvelous and amazing mod, Pie. I am having big fun learning and playing PAE. (frankly saying it took me the whole day yesterday for me to learn about trade wagon thing and resource trading mechanic because English is not my mother language... )

all those generals is also a bug?

also, any ideas on how to make the scenarios more difficult? no matter if I play with the romans or thebans, is quite easy to conquer many cities until I get bored of the same scenario and tactics from the enemies..

they use the same tactics, nothing smarter as it says, is only harder for me to balance my finances..

To make it harder, I play as a quasi-OCC and collect all other civs as vassals

units that become legendary can create generals, and this also erases their war weariness, even though I dont have anything to do with them so I just leave them in my city

suggestion: Catapult/onager should upgrade to fire catapult

what do you mean you have nothing to do with them? you can build special buildings, upgrade your units

If there were a lot more special buildings, I would use them for that... and I generally, I only keep one general in a stack as the risk of losing one and having many/all my troops fight on their own is too high,

also @PiE there should be a way to pay an extra salary to an entire stack at once instead of one at a time

Breaking this long silence to say: still addictive

What determines slave prices in foreign cities? I've seen from 42 to 300 per slave - I assume game speed has something to do with it, but in the below image: upload_2020-9-19_23-47-5.png
the slave fetches 56 gold at Sardis, but Miletos to the east will pay 70. Miletos is 1/8 the size... what's going on here? I want to sell my giant piles of slaves for even gianter piles of money

    Also:

what are the intricacies of the auto-capitulation mechanic for capturing all but 4 of an enemy's cities? It sometimes kicks in right at 4, sometimes at 2, and it's annoyingly random. Does razing a captured city affect anything, or passing it off to a vassal?

I think it depends on the target city's distance from your capital (or the origin city of the unit?)

That seems like it should play a role, but it's mediated by something - in the image, miletos is closer and smaller and I just captured and returned it and yet it pays a little more. A Phoenician city a little west pays 140ish. Anyone know? 150 slaves are sitting in my capital waiting to be sold to their new owners, and more are being ripped from their homes every turn

Selling slaves: there are two possibilites:
selling on a slave market: Random between 10-40 gold
selling via XML trade feature: lots of factors (CIV mechanic)

vassals: uiiii.... there are lots of calculations.. vassal power, with and without its vassals, winner power, attitude to opponent and random numbers.
