Pigheaded support rant

I purchased Civ IV when it first came out for Windows but no longer have that computer. I purchased it again for Mac when I got a Mac. Now that I have Leopard I can dual boot into Windows and play the cool Windows only mod. Much to my dismay I discovered that I have lost disk 1 of 2 of the windows version. Now normally with any software I would have an archival copy. Due to their anal protection, one can't do that and have a playable copy.

I wrote to 2K to get a replacement CD - I still have the packaging, the rules, the 2nd CD (the one erroneously marked "play"), etc.

2K's response - "Purchase it again"

I can't recall a more "middle fingered" support response is quite some time. Is this their idea of customer support and loyalty building?
 
Nonsense. I'd like to see proof of that response. Companies might be wankers but customer support, if manipulated correctly will be open to helping you in whatever way you need.
