Greetings once again from the graphically impaired (but learning!) Oz.

I'd like to use Visio to make tech trees, as I think it would be an easy way to add arrows etc. The problem is that it gives grid coordinates in fractions of inches. So how many angels can dance on the head of a pin -- I mean, how many pixels are there in an inch? Or is this even a meaningful question?

Many Thanks As Usual,

Oz

A pixel = one "dot" of color. It's one location (X,Y) that is assigned one color value (The "RGB" three numbers for example). How many pixels per inch depends on the resolution of the image & of your screen. Graphics resolution is expressed in pixels per inch, sometimes called dots per inch for printing. I've often worked with images at different resolutions simultaneously. When saved as a PCX the game cares about pixel count, not resolution.

In the case of the software you're working with, just open a standard tech tree, & look at its size. That should give you a base to measure from.

On the gripping hand, you could just change the ruler measurement units.
