Apparently there was an official Play the World launch party and it was a night of beer, Civ, and stamps! Check out the coverage at Games Domain!

I guess this means Play the World has officially gone gold and we can probably expect to see the game on store shelves on the 29th this month. You may want to pre-order the expansion from Amazon.com for $29.99 with FREE shipping.

Thanks to Sparrowhawk for the news tip.

Just checked Amazon and the sad news is: they do not ship outside US. EBgames does however, so for anyone non-US wanting it fast there is an alternative. They charge $29,99 as well and about the same amount for shipping.

    [dance] Woo-hoo!

I thought they said mid-November, so this is welcome news.

I think I'm going to try the Koreans first. :D

The writier's mentioning of losing girlfriends b/c of civ is sooooo funny to me. It sounds as if he HAS lost a girlfriend b/c of his addiction.

I'll have enough... guts, I guess, to admit that I sure did. It was at least a factor that I spent way too much time kicking civ butt and not enough paying attention to my ex-g/f.

But that was very important multiplayer training. Gotta make sure I'm in tip-top shape for PTW.

Still tho, let it be a lesson to you newer people. This addiction can be as bad, if not worse, than any drug you've ever tried...

Well, I guess that they need to build a transport especially for shipping overseas, since the american civilization doesn't start with a merchantman as we do, members of the glorious dutch civilization!
Hmmm, think I have to cut down my colonization/civilization time...

What's so special about this party anyway? I have parties all the time! And do you people realize that such launching parties only push the retail price further up?

It is! Still placed the order because:
    a) Dutch retail prices will not be much lower than 60 Euro.
    b) I sometimes tend to be impatient and this is a typical example.

Women don't see the positive side of gaming. I mean, they know where we are, they know what we're doing, and they can watch the Lifetime Channel with no complaining. They don't know how good they have it.

My fiance starting playing The Sims a while back, and got rather hooked on it. I must admit, it did annoy me a little. It was pretty funny though, because she was struggling even getting a job, and I sat played it for ten minutes and owned the thing. That ticked her off, so I quickly got bad at it. Of course, that was a stupid game, and I should have been playing Civ3. I apologize for the lapse.

Well, the screenshots of the editor say *.bix so I doubt it.
