I have questions about multi player:
1. How do I get started?
2. My location has been a bit of a problem with the other games and ping. How will this work with Civ4?

The best thing would be to hookup with Asian or American players - e.g. in a league. I am admin of a league with an American Asian league, but it is (edited: not) very active at the moment. Anyway, there is some other leagues out there as well, I guess :D

We do have a small but growing Asian/Chinese population on Civplayers leagues as well, but the internet quality in that part of the world does tend not to be very good and may limit you to smaller games, 3-4 players max.

Too bad there is not so much activity for players in Asia. Well, I hope you find your way to Civilization Players League or Civilization Multiplayer League - whatever you find the most suitable - or both 'cause as I said in another thread: I do not find it constructive to compete for getting the most players to the leagues - it is a matter of having fun for me.

Don't worry Stef, you are targeting a different group of players with 4-5 hour games. While vet players on Civplayers do enjoy long ironman games, the defacto standard in the BTS lobby for us is 2-3 hours max, and often in the 1.5 hour range on weekdays. This is fast paced, played on blazing or faster, adrenaline rush games, that players can get in on a busy weeknight and still get some time for their significant other :p

I might join your league, CS, but for now I have my hands full. And you are absolutely right: Different target groups. Glad you see it the same as me :)
