PLEASE HELP! I have RAM issues!

I need some new RAM in order to play Civilization IV and the Sims 2 on my PC, which now runs Vista Home Basic. (the PC was designed for XP)

My RAM however is 512MB DDR SDRAM PC3200. If I bought 1GB DDR2 PC5300 RAM, would that work on my PC or not? Please respond with a simple answer, thanks!

It might probably enough. Bear in mind Vista needs around 1 gig of ram itself to run. You're better off running XP. THen you might not even need to get new ram.

i dont want to know if i need ram, i want to know if PC5300 ram would be compatible in PC3200 slots on my pc. they're both DDR, but mine is DDR SDRAM, the other i dont know.

yeah i really regret buying Vista. but hopefully after i get some new RAM it'll run okay.
