But what does Canada have to do with Pirates! ?
Maybe we should reexamine the last livestream for other hints.
I voted for Inca but hope they do the Mayans they’ve been around since 8000 bc
Sid Meier's Pirates, Sid Meier's Railroad Tycoon ... Sid Meier's Canadian.
No. I mean Morocco.
Realistically, I think it's going to be either Sweden or Phoenicia/Carthage.
Hopefully, I would like to see Ottomans to be next. But I bet you anything that they will save it for last.
Did you know we have a seemingly extremely solid leak confirming who is and isn't in? Just checking, cause if so, you do you, but if not, fyi
Last year they revealed Chandragupta on December 27th and the Cree on January 2nd so they might still do a reveal during the Christmas & New Year weeks, just slightly delayed. The first look videos have probably all been finished already and just have to be posted. I wouldn't expect a new livestream until the second week of January however. Which means we might get three first looks before the next stream, just like with R&F during the holiday.
I'm going with Eleanor this time just to mix things up
Not entirely convinced your "seeming extremely solid leaks" are as extremely solid as you may think, I'm not convinced Sweden or the Ottomans are certainties.
I could be wrong. I'm probably wrong. Which is why my prediction is a little left field.
They've correctly predicted both the civ and leader three times so far, predicted the name of the expansion, and provided the correct leader art in Kupe. Out of curiosity, what more could they have offered to convince you?
I'm pretty sure a Swedish river was seen in a screenshot, which basically confirms it. The only ones that aren't fully confirmed are the Ottomans and Mali but then again they were in both of the leaks.
The only way the leaked information isn't 100% accurate at this point is if it was intentionally leaked by Firaxis as a red herring, of sorts. The first few revealed civs line up with the list, but the rest diverge.
I suppose it's always possible. User AssemblingTyphoon knew a whole lot of insider information, which he was revealing in dribs and drabs in the weeks preceding the official announcement. He might have been a covert Firaxis employee with the blessing of the marketing department.
But that all seems very tinfoil hat.
I think there will be riots if Firaxis leaves out the Ottomans. Personally, I'd happily sacrifice the Ottomans for Babylon or Assyria, but if the Ottomans and Phoenicia are the only Middle Eastern civs I can get I'll take them.
I voted Carthage/Phoenicia - seems pretty much the opposite of Canada. Mediterranean rather than tundra, very old rather than quite new, presumably trade/seafaring focus.
Haven't we already seen the replacement for the Stockholm city-state as well? They never remove city-states unless they are adding them to the city list of a new Civ.
I got lucky with Canada. Let's see if I can make the Ottomans happen.
Yes, it was Bologna.
It's the Inca. Llama on the shelf, as well as Mountains being discussed next week per stream.
But mountain tunnels are made possible by dynamite... Alfred Nobel was Swedish.
