The Maori really look amazing, very unique and fun to play as. I wonder if the next civ will be able to surpass them :)

Which civ do you think will be announced next?
I guess I'm picking the Inca again, it's gotta be their turn sometime right?:D

After two "new civs" (if you count the Maori as new), I'm betting on a series regular: Inca.

I'm torn between Inca and Phoenicia.

It has to be someone familiar this time. Hungary was new and the Maori are newish (being a novel incarnation of Polynesia this time around). So either the Inca, Sweden or the Ottomans. I'm leaning towards the Inca: I think they're going to play off of the new engineering features (being mountainous and having terrace farms and all).

Going with Inca for the moment. But I am still deciding. Phoenicia/Carthage, Ottomans, and Mali are strong contenders as well.

I'm tempted to vote Sweden because next Thursday just so happens to be the feast of St Lucy which is a big deal over there.

Realistically though, we need to wait for the globe hint in this week's livestream if there is one.

I think after a sea focused civ we'll get a land one, I'm voting Inca because I have the feeling they'll leave Ottomans for last. (the other returning fan favourite)

Phoenicia is in Africa? Also, they are probably another coastal/sea faring civ, and I find 2 naval oriented civs in a row unlikely. Hope to be wrong though :p

Phoenicia was in the Middle-East or Asia if you like.

I think it will be a female leader, so I voted for Carthage/Phenicia.

Phoenicia was in middle-east. But if it is in GS and with Dido, the founder of Carthage, it was also located partly in Africa.

So far I got 1 right out of two.
I think it'll be a female leader this time. Let's say Phoenicia (btw, it would make more sense to say that Phoenicia was a Mediterranean power, but yeah the Phoenicians originated from what is today Lebanon - even if lots of Phoenicians emigrated to Mediterranean islands, Iberia and Africa. In the 8th century those colonies were cut from the original land of Phoenicia that was conquered by the Assyrians.).

Woman time. Traditional civ time. Sounds like Phonecia or Sweden. We've already had a European civ not so long ago, so I'm going with Phonecia.

Of course, now that they know we're paying attention, they may show south America but give us someone other than the Inca or Canada. Or show the Mediterranean (plus north and south of it), which could indicate several possibilities.

This. Phoenicia proper was the Levant. As a seafaring colonial power, they did expand to coastal colonies throughout the Mediterranean, including North Africa. Carthage was a famous example.

That said, we just had a seafaring civ this week for FL, so I do not think it will be them. Instead, my money is on a legacy civ, like Mali or the Inca.

More fun to guess before the livestream's globe appears. :)

Not Phoenicia as the reincarnation of Carthage, because we just had the reincarnation of Polynesia as Maori.

Not Sweden as we've already had Hungary and they'll space out the two European civs.

Not Eleanor, as they'll save the alt leader until later.

But they may be motivated to showcase a female next. So either I'm wrong about the above (in which case I'd lean Phoenicia), or it will be:

Ottomans led by Suleiman and with Roxelana as a unique governor.

Either that or they just release the Inca since they've been leaking that one like crazy.

EDIT: PS, I wonder if the unique governor, whoever it is, appears in the leader screen? maybe hanging out in the background looking happy or disapproving depending on the leader's mood?
