My bets are on Ashanti, Canada and Italy (or Italian CS)

I think the absence of Kumasi and Toronto have been planned; and the fact we have the Cree wanting the Cut-Knife Hill story told (through Scenario probably), we could see Canada [and Ashanti] included in this expansion pack.
The Italian Civ or CS-Civ is born from the idea of the plague scene in the trailer too. (Best bet is Genoa from the coding; but delayed when they started talking about R&F features and through it would be best suited for that [they start talk about expansion features near the end of vanilla development])

However the fact that Toronto and Kumasi are absent could also be Firaxis wanting to mess with our minds knowing that we have now narrowed it down to Ashanti and Canada being possibilities; if they aren't included in the expansion pack as Civs, but not as CS either then it most likely means they have reserved those slots for their inclusion later on.

And of course, the inclusion of the black death, gladiator and ancient stones scenes could also be references to DLC Civs like the Winged Hussar was in the vanilla cinematic.

Last three R&F Civs: Ashanti, Canada & Italy*

Post-R&F DLCs: Inca, Byzantium & Ottomans

I voted for the Zulu, Italy, and the Celts.....
I'm skeptical of the Inca, Ottomans, and Mali appearing in Rise & Fall. No Machu Picchu wonder. Ottomans could be saved for a DLC (perhaps with the Byzantines). And maybe Firaxis picked the Zulu over Mali, because they thought Southern Africa needed a Civ and one that can keep Kongo in check. I do hope Mali or another West African Civ makes it to Civ6. Maybe the Chinese guy on Baidu is/or was an actual employee of 2K China? That thread did get deleted...I realize the "Braveheart hint" could just be referring to William Wallace replacing Genghis Khan as Great General.
The Netherlands can't be the only European Civ in R&F, unless you count Georgia as European. There has to be at least one, and for me, some form of Italy and the Celts aren't ruled out. (even if Armagh was still spotted as a City-State in a R&F video).

Looks like I'll have to wait until next week to see if I'm wrong or right. :p

I see no reason to doubt the results of the previous pole, considering there has been no evidence to the contrary since then.

In any case the devs should take notice of our overall wants and needs by this point.

Still kept it by my old expectations of the Inca, the Ottomans and Italy.

I like the Renaissance hat idea for the small blurry leader head :goodjob:.
Though the Chinese "leak" makes me nervous to see the Zulu this early (I would be fine if they were the last civ to be added for the Civ 6 series as a whole though ).
If we do get an African civ I hope it is one from West Africa though (and than preferably the Ashanti or Mali).

I personally think that that Machu Picchu isn't added because it's basically a ruin of a "city" on a mountain (and it's beautiful surroundings) which is the wondrous thing about it.
In game it will be just newly build and the pictures of the original restored city (not a singular building like most of the other wonders are) aren't that wondrous to be honest at all and on top of it all it has too be build on a complete tile on a mountain, which will be very odd and unrecognizable.

Still expecting the Ottomans but I would be OK with it if they came as a DLC soon after R&F is released, unfortunate that will not be known at first so there will be a lot of rumblings of their fans if they are not in R&F :shifty:.

Italy is maybe wishful thinking but the missing city-states and the plague doctors from the trailer seem to shout renaissance Italy to me, but off course I could be completely wrong :undecide:.

Yes they are. I just opened the game to double check.

All of them from Aethelflaed to Vijaya Wimalaratne each have their own Civilopedia page.

For me I have thought the Ottomans were a lock for this expansion. The way the reveals have occurred I am fairly confident the last one will be the "fan fav" to lead into release on their highest level of hype, be that Ottomans, Inca, or Zulu.

That being said, I think they save one of those 3 for xpac #2 and, for me, I feel that the Inca are the last to arrive.

Given how Renaissance Europe is one of Ed Beach's favorite historical periods, I wouldn't be surprised to see another Medici. :D

Yes, but this one was actually incredibly competent and was one of the main stabilizing factors in the politics of the Italian city states.

So is Anton Strenger the one who picked the Civs for R&F?

And appeared in Assassin's Creed II. :D

I would guess they're selected by a team with a heavy influence from the lead designer. In which case I so far like Anton's tastes better than Ed's. :p
