More than one person can rightly say that is so. The sixty-second episode of PolyCast, an official podcast of Apolyton Civilization Site (ACS), is now netcasting. "Resemble That Remark" features regular co-hosts Daniel "DanQ" Quick, Makahlua and Imran Siddiqui with returning guest co-hosts Joe "snoopy369" Matise, James Robertson and first-time guest co-host Ricardo "r_rolo1" Rolo.

PolyCast is a bi-weekly audio production in an ongoing effort to give the Civ community an interactive voice on game strategy. A nominee in the "Best Produced" and "Gaming" categories of the 2008 Podcast Awards, sibling show ModCast focuses on Civ modding and RevCast focuses on Civilization: Revolution.

The summary of topics is as follows:

- 03m34s | Forum Talk
All about the Lonely Hearts Club, on airlift, and a thought on Unique Units.
- 29m10s | Senate
The best Unique Building in Civilization IV, including Beyond the Sword, and redux: favourite map type last discussed during Episode 07 in January 2007.

- Intro/Outro | Miscellaneous
The most hilarious message ever in CivIV, going after Frigates in the Modern Era unconventionally, and feelings about the possibility of returning to the show (again).

As always, enjoy.

I've been quoted in the ever popular additional unique units discussions.

I shouldn't be surprised: I've been in enough of them.

Like more civs, more civics , more leaders, more random events, more resources, I see it as more of a good thing that can enhance both gameplay and realism when properly implemented. Just because it isn't easy to do doesn't mean it can't or shouldn't be done somehow. Posters in the History in the Making thread often comment on how well balanced the mod is.

The Lonely Hearts topic got me thinking. I detest isolated starts, not because there's nobody to beat on , but because there's nobody to trade with. I'm a trade route junkie. "It's the economy,Stupid " is my motto.

That being said, I think Cothon and Fretoria are cool UBs. I rate the Ikhanda and Terrace near the top because they are useful, cheap and early.

I concur. :yup:

As a self-professed trade junkie, I can understand why. In a tie-in to another topic on this episode no less, I suspect you rarely play on Pangea. :D

... Terrace near the top... useful, cheap and early.
Cheap and early certainly, but I must disagree on it being useful enough to be in the Top 10. It provides only a +2:culture: boost over the Granary which it replaces; if one's looking for a cultural booster on top of religion and Wonders, I'd rather wait for the +3:culture: from the Ball Court to become available. It doesn't cost that much more in :hammers: (80 vs. 60).

Now, Ricardo: how'd the "censorship" come across? :D

Right again!

A couple of reasons. 3) Barbs scale badly on Huge/ Marathon, detracting from the fun, and it's not unusal to see them destroy entire civs given enough land mass. 2) Doesn't seem Earth-like enough and harms my sense of immersion. 1) It spoils my sailing navy gameplay :gripe: !

Big and Small , or Terra usually. Sometimes Shuffle.

I rarely play Inca ( maybe I should, I'm in a slump ) . I figure one of the biggest advantages is that th A.I builds graineries everywhere so it can whip. That means that a city that the Inca capture, absorb or gain in a treaty probably already has one , and when it becomes a terrace it can start producing culture immediately.
