So one historian says he might've been gay. There's not enough evidence to solemnly conclude this.

Not that it matters. There is nothing wrong with being homosexual; you can't control what your urges are. Fundamentalists who condemn people based on their desires are absolutely wrong; though they're also wrong to condemn anybody at all.

"Papal infallibility" does not mean that Popes do not sin. Please read up a little bit before you presume superiority.

I'm a theology major. Though even the one historian we're referring to says it was just a rumor.

I'm not concluding without an inch of doubt that he wasn't a homosexual, but there's not enough evidence around to say that he was. (There's no evidence, actually. If you're going to accept one unsubstantiated rumor from one historian, then I'm wondering what your opinion on King Arthur is.)

That's silly. Humans can't exist without plants.

All the more reason I hope their beliefs soon disintegrate into nothingness.

Yes, so they pick a Pope who will presumably die soon to give them time to figure out who the person they want to lead them in the long run will be.

I think it's a wonderful thing that Benedict XVI. is doing something to fight one of the plagues that aim to destroy christianity. I hope his efforts will continue.

Your wish is fulfilled. His efforts will continue, and they will be utterly fruitless. World leaders have grown beyond listening to the pope because he's got a cool hat. Which is pretty much the only reason to take his statements on homosexuality seriously.

You know what, you're right, no one can claim to be anything on the internet and be taken seroiusly. So here: I am a giant flying purple monkey-lizard that can breath fire and poop ice.

    I'm glad I'm not Catholic.

If anything some parts of the world could use more homosexuality because they're overpopulated. In fact if we had less people the rain forest would be in less danger, so the pope is working against saving the rain forest.

Hate the religion, not the religious. Maybe in time they can be saved.
