Porn = bad , SS = good?

The rules are nothing to do with (or shouldn't be) about what might be "offensive" or ethical, it's about being suitable for children.

Now, perhaps someone could make a case that Nazi imagery is no worse than images of nudity or sex, but it shouldn't be a case of "I find it offensive!" If you're an adult, you're old enough to put up with it. If we start banning things based on offensiveness or unsuitableness, then anything could be banned. Anyone can find anything offensive.

Considering if a policeman in Germany (or was it Austria?) were to find someone posting and saw that icon, they'd get in trouble (I'm exaggerating...I hope).
Yes, but the servers aren't located in Germany, so that's not relevant.

That reminds me about something hmm...:mischief:

Nah. Fifty strives to maximize his points without being banned. There's a huge difference.

Hitro actually has a nice little system going. He shows up intermittently, has a little spam fest with his buddy Xen, and never gets any punishment because by the time he returns to do it again his infractions have probably expired!

Actually I get banned for weeks everytime. ;)

And actually I post rather regularly in Sports.

Why don't you just leave permanently?
I like some people here, in particular in the Sports Forum.

And of course I also wouldn't like to do you that favour. ;)

IIRC, cierdan had to change his avatar when it was revealed that it contained a camouflaged swastika.

The difference is that he was a genuine white supremest; it's quite different for other posters, really.

I thought that Cierdan's wasn't a swastika but rather a representation of a graph he strongly believed in that supposedly demonstrated that black people have lower IQs than white people

This whole thread is confusing. Hitro appeared to be at least partially joking, some people didn't quite realise that, there was a discussion about the topic, and now it's mostly about bannings...

Somehow it just doesn't flow right.

If I may speak for Fifty here I should note that this is incorrect. We don't come here to seek the maximal amount of allowable moderator dissapproval rather to maximize the amount of funny things that occur on the forums. This sometimes requires breaching a rule or two but we are not activel seeking to accumate points.

It could also be the last part of KISS, the band. They write their Ss like that, I haven't heard of them being banned, lately.

Also, the SS itself is worse than porn; but the letters "SS" as they appear here are not the actual group. Contrariwisenessly, if someone puts porn in their avatar, it is actual porn, not a symbol. The Playboy bunny, perhaps, would be acceptable as an avatar (I don't know) but it is easier to put actual porn in one's avatar than an actual defunct government organization, of any ideology.

QFT Thank you.

An unfortunate oversight on the part of Western society. ;)
