Possible Bug: Notification sound effects stop playing mid game

Has anyone else noticed this? Not sure if its just affecting me or not.

The notifications you get at the right of the screen at the start of each turn; most have a sound effect such as the drum roll for a promotion or a scribble sound for a social policy etc.

In most of the my games so far, after x turns (seems to be random) there sound effects stop playing. The notifications still appear as normal.

Restarting the game (or maybe just quit to main menu and reload - not tried that) fixes the problem, until after another x turns when it starts again.

I can't find any pattern or cause for this. Has anyone else experienced it? I don't think I had the issue before BNW, and certainly not before the pre expansion pack.

PS. The Ancient Ruin sound effect never plays any more but i think this is by design. Can somebody confirm this too?
 
The issue has been happening pre-BNW because it came with the pre-BNW patch, this is just one of the things they broke with the patch.

It's quite annoying, you lose the track of stuff.

So is the absent Ancient Ruins sound a bug as well then?

Is there a bug thread for BNW / pre-BNW patch that covers that includes this?

I've never noticed the other sound effects issues, though I could very easily just not be paying attention, but I've definitely noticed the one afflicting Ancient Ruins. In all of my post-BNW games, the discovery of an Ancient Ruins only gives the "shimmering ring" sound effect identical to so many other events; it has stopped giving the unique flute flourish that it used to give. I miss the flute. :(

The other sound effects do switch off after a while, pay close attention when you expect to hear them. When they switch off, they don't start again until reboot.

Is this issue mentioned in the bugs forum, I had a look but couldn't find it, if not a mod might want to move this thread?
 
Just wanna chime in and say I miss those sounds too. The chirpy ruin discovery, the 3-tone unit lost dirge, that promo drums. Restarting might fix it but it takes too gosh darn long to load stuff up.. here's hoping it'll be fixed in the fall patch.
 
Thanks for confirming I'm not alone with this issue. Had a horrible feeling my sound card drivers might be messed up lol
